Really good Hotel. Large rooms, with views over the beach and sea. Location is excellent and amenities good. Staff were very helpful and the piece that moves this Hotel to another level is the extra little things……such as free cycles, beach equipment and speaking events put on for hotel residents.

Intercontinental (and it is the same for others of this brand), do the spectacular well, but let themselves down with some basics that travellers want.
In this case the pool is small and nothing more than a dipping pool, the location and type of internet connection points are away from the beds, not c connectors and cannot all be used at same time. Room cleaning came early and more often kept leaving notes that unable to enter room. Restaurant options are good but expensive, even for breakfast. Business centre printer was not working.
On the positive, the staff were fantastic and could not help more on what were probably mundane requests. A special mention to Maria, who went out of her way to assist.
The hotel itself is excellent location and has fantastic views of San Diego.
When you take all these factors into account and consider the price and value for money it is difficult to move the dial beyond a 3/5.
