Amazing Ocean Views, pool table,14x28 pool, hot tub, 4x4

Finding Sandity, located on a semi-oceanfront lot on the 4x4 beach, has better "unobstructed" views than most oceanfront homes in the 4WD area. The 3rd level has a spacious open floor plan with kitchen, dining room, living room, and ships watch. There are plenty of windows in this lovely living area with multiple seating options. The king master bedroom off of the living room has access to the front deck with gorgeous ocean views and panoramic beach views. To the rear of the living area you will find a bonus room with a bunk set for the little ones.
The 2nd level has 3 full bedrooms, king with private bath and deck access, queen with private bath and deck access, a room with a duobunk (double bottom and twin top) and another twin bed, and a 4th bedroom that has been converted to a game room with a pool table and and brand new queen sleeper sofa and deck access. Fantastic views from this level mean sunrises can be viewed without even leaving your bed, but feel free to take the coffee out to the top level and enjoy that beautiful reflection of the sunrise over the ocean.
On the ground level you will find front and rear entry doors, fish cleaning table, outside shower and commode, and a park style grill. The new pool is located in the front next to the ocean!! The front yard has a dune dotted with sea oats that add to the charm of this well located home. Walk to the beach in less than a minute!!!!

Saturday Check In - 4 Wheel Drive Required - Extra fee for linens and/or towels - approximately 3 miles up the 4x4 beach Pool and hot tub typically open Memorial day to end of Sept. Parking at the house is free and unlimited. Guests will use the two season passes that belong to the house for parking on the beach. No graduation groups or events are allowed in any of our homes. Booking directly saves money!

This was an excellent place to stay. Home was clean unbelievable views just amazing. If I had a negative it would be a soundbar for the TV is needed. Also 4x4 is highly necessary in order to get to property you will travel on beach and sand. Don't forget to Air Down your tires or you will get stuck. That's the good & bad!! you will love it!!

Family Vacation 2024

We really enjoyed our stay at this beach house! Being right on the beach was great and very secluded which made for a peaceful stay. We saw wild horses everyday and some came right up to the fence around the pool. The house was very clean and felt like our home away from home! Will plan on visiting again very soon :)

A great family destination

We really enjoyed our stay with our entire family and little children. It provided a wonderful place with a mix of nature, adventure, start gazing, and just relaxation. Definitely recommended!

Family Vacation

My family and I stayed for a week to end our summer before the kids go back to school. The property was well maintained, had everything we needed and communication with the host was wonderful. Everything was exactly as described. The pool was such a great feature because one day the beach was just too hot to be comfortable and have the kids play. There were plenty of games and movies to also keep the kids entertained. We had an overall amazing experience at this property.

Wonderful stay

My family and I had a wonderful week at Finding Sandity. The house was exactly as advertised. The wild horses roamed freely and we seen them throughout the week. One day they literally came right up to the pool fence grazing. We also got to see sea turtle eggs being buried (the sea turtle volunteers moved the original nest due to the likelihood of survival, and a 5ft shark caught right in front of our house. We would definitely recommend this house and hope to be back soon in the future.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: WE arrived at the proper time, 4 PM, just as high tide left. didnt releaize that you were stuck on the island from 10 AM until 4 PM from the tide covering the beach road. the home while the location is great if your goal is to beach full time, was a bit run down, not well kept but clean. Lots of sand and forget it if you dont come in 4WD truck/jeep. Wild horses were pretty cool. The hot tub was great but very dirty, didnt scare us, proba should have.

This year we had wild horses roaming and grazing right outside our door. There is nothing more magical than sipping coffee, watching the sunrise and having five wild horses grazing right in front of your deck! Memories to last a lifetime! The managers are incredibly helpful and friendly. We can't say enough wonderful things about this rental!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, I would like to Thank Laura at Carova Cottages rentals. She is an amazing and wonderful agent to work with and I would recommend her every time! Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same about the house. The mattresses downstairs are uncomfortable. The King bed downstairs felt like sleeping on a Futon. The bathroom toilets felt like they are recommended for children. Extremely low and if you have back problems not comfortable. The furniture in the living room are the same. Very uncomfortable to get up from and not a recliner anywhere. The kitchen had to be the most disappointing. The silverware was cheap. I purchased nice forks and left them for the next family. Cookie sheets lacking quality. Blender was broken. And I’ve never been in a beach home with no crab hammers or seafood utensils! (If you want to enjoy cooking at home, this is not the home for you. ). The view of the ocean and the swimming pool are the only reason I will give this home a 2 star review. Hopefully in the future, this home will be updated because it could be an amazing gem.

4th year with Corova, 1st at finding sandity

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Laura was incredible as usual. This is the 4th year we have used Carova Cottages, it was our first year at FINDING SANDITY. The location of the house cant be beat, the Views , wild horses and access to the beach were all A+. The house fell a little short compared to the other carova cottage houses we have experienced in the past. The internet here was terrible, we kept getting kicked off wifi, and often times the TV wouldnt work. Laura stopped by and dropped off her personal modem/hot spot for us to use. That seemed to help a little bit with the wifi issues. The bigger issue was the upstairs AC didnt work, they had 4 window units in the windows, but the temperature upstairs was always over 75 and one night it was 78, made for uncomfortable conditions. We were told the HVAC guy was coming to fix it on Wednesday, he never showed up. The refrigerator didnt have an ice maker which meant we had to run out and get bags of ice multiple times during our stay. Laura did tell us about a ice delivery service we could use. The other negative was that the area in between the pool and the house was all sand, making it impossible to keep sand out of the pool and the house. The house was Fine, the other houses we have stayed at through carova have been better. We will continue to use Carova because of Laura, she always goes above and beyond. If this is the first house you are renting in OBX you will love it, i think we were spoiled from our previous experiences.

Very spacious and each room had door to the porch which was great. The screen porch on the side was perfect to get away from the cool breeze but still able to view the ocean. The location was perfect with a great view of the ocean and area. We were able to watch the horses from the deck and even in the pool. Check in and out was very easy and hosts were great.

My only complaints are there wasn't a second refrigerator like most beach houses (for drinks, etc) and that we couldn't see the 4th of July fireworks from the deck because the house Nextdoor blocked the view. However, when the AC went out on the second floor, the rental company was REALLY FAST to bring portable units until the service man could get there in 48 hours...communication was wonderful and I highly recommend this company again!

Loved the Location

Finding Sandity was a great vacation location for our family. Close to the beach, beautiful view, and we really enjoyed the pool and hot tub too. Driving 3 miles on the beach was a cool experience and caused us to enjoy the home and beach more. We look forward to vacationing in the Outer Banks again soon.

Great ocean views!

Beautiful views of the ocean and right on the beach! It was wonderful to hear the waves from our room and watch the sunrise over the ocean from our deck. Brand new pool. We had a great time and would definitely recommend!
