"The cottage was tidy. Clean but not to detail or deep cleaned. Comfy tho. It needs several things in the kitchen. More plates, a can opener, another knife, more forks n spoons and definitely needs a coffee maker. Also needs a few more pots or pans. Other than that it was a convenient place if you're going to explore Sequoia NP 😊"
"The restaurant was great!! The breakfast were delicious and complimentary for children 5 and younger. Just make sure to msje reservations if your planning on having dinner at the lodge. The room was clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend it."
"Very nice gentleman checked us in. I believe he is the owner at least he told me his wife could say he was. Cute little place and reminded me of the places I stayed when I was a kid with my parents. Will stay there again if I travel thru this area. More bathroom products than the major lodging places have. Just a quaint small motel that’s a reminded of how simple things were in the past"
"Nice, rustic lodge with super helpful staff. It’s not the Ritz but it’s a great option if you want to see the Canyon and surrounding areas and have a comfy/bed and shower at the end of the day. The food was very good and the convenience store was great!"
"John Muir Lodge is in an unbeatable location in Kings Canyon NP, with trails accessible right outside your door. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The pillows were comfy, the shower was glorious, and the lounge is a cozy place to drink coffee in the morning. However! Please know going in that there is only one restaurant available for all lodge guests, campers, and day visitors, and they are super understaffed (not their fault). The restaurant staff we interacted with were incredibly kind, patient, and friendly despite people getting frustrated and behaving in really gross, rude, entitled ways. Please bring your patience and most considerate manners when you visit. It's a remote location with minimal amenities, not Disneyland. If you have the right expectations and are here to appreciate the beautiful park, you'll love it."
"Great check in with a very nice host. The deck was nice with a grill to cook. It did get very hot inside but the AC was able to cool it down after a few hours being inside."
