Oakridge Farmhouse at Whiterock Conservancy

  • Whiterock Conservancy is a 5,500-acre, nonprofit land trust dedicated to providing educational and recreational opportunities for the public, improving and protecting the land through conservation, and demonstrating sustainable farming methods.

    Explore over 40 miles of hiking, running, mountain biking, and equestrian trails that meander through prairie, oak savanna, wetland and river valley; set up camp in our RV or tent camping areas; or enjoy the comforts of home in one of our vacation rentals. Enjoy the countryside and wildlife, and some of the darkest skies in Iowa for stargazing. Visit the Historic Garst Farmstead to learn about agricultural history or check out one of our multiple fishing ponds. We have fishing equipment, mountain bikes and kayaks/canoes (river level and weather permitting) for rent.

    This traditional large farmhouse has plenty of room for your get-together! The whole family can enjoy the beautiful views and wildlife. The layout is spacious and welcoming, with original wooden floors and plenty of seating. Oak Ridge Farmhouse is directly adjacent to Oak Ridge RV Campground which features 14 electric hookup sites, shower house and bathroom, rentable steel horse pens, and hiking, biking and equestrian trail access.

    BEDROOMS: There are five bedrooms in this house. The first-floor bedroom contains one queen and one twin, while three of the upstairs bedrooms each have two twin beds. The last upstairs bedroom has two queen beds and a seating area. Bedding is provided.

    BATHROOMS: Two bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) each with sink, toilet & shower. The upstairs hallway also has an extra vanity sink & mirror. Clean towels provided.

    KITCHEN AMENITIES: Kitchen is equipped to serve large groups. Includes full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, dishes and utensils.

    LIVING/DINING AREAS: Several locally made tables and comfortable couches in the living and dining areas provide ample seating.

    OUTDOORS: Includes five picnic tables, charcoal grill, fire ring and is directly neighboring Oak Ridge RV Campground. You'll often see wildlife and equestrian riders out and about near this hilltop farmhouse.

    PARKING: Driveway parking will accommodate up to 5 vehicles. Please park on gravel only.

    Location has Wi-Fi, a smart tv, air conditioning, closet space, and clean linens & towels provided. Cell coverage may not be available from all providers.
