i recently stayed in Room 227 at Americas Best Value Inn Richmond San Francisco. The room itself was clean and had all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out hassle-free. However, I did experience some issues with noise from the adjoining room. There is a connecting door between rooms, which unfortunately didn’t provide enough sound insulation. Sounds from the neighboring room were quite noticeable, affecting the overall peace and quiet. Despite this, the location was convenient, and the service was good. If you’re sensitive to noise, you may want to request a room without an adjoining door.

phone & wi-fi access was terrible. that said the room was surprisingly quiet considering how close to freeway we were & very convenient to places we went tho none were 'walkable' still the staff were excellent & very helpful (due to train schedule we arrived quite late and they were most accomidating = loved having a fridge/microwave- tv service was great. i personally found the mattress hard but i like a softer one. wish they had softer pillows tho. -- this is not against the room - i just find the platform bed style they use (as does motel 6 etc) to be very uncomfortable as the mattress slides around on it. but thats just not a preference of mine.

Quiet, clean, spacious, well equipped. Shower maybe needs an update. AC or heating were effective. Very convenient place if you have a car, but an easy 15 minute walk to businesses on San Pablo. Also easy connection to BART, as the bus stops right on the corner at the Inn.

Fine for 1-2 nights

My trip was for only one night. Short stays are usually when I will stay at a mediocre to good hotel for the sake of saving money and for the convenience. I factor in reviews, ratings as well as cost. I would stay at this hotel again if there are any future stays in this same area. Best thing about my room...clean. Most disappointing.... unable to join the WiFi network. I let the manage know when I checked out

I liked the fact that transit stop is right across the street. And I liked the fact that I could get clean towels all the time (because I needed them to cover up the surface area before I had a chance to scrub the room myself!). This was the DIRTIEST room I have ever stayed in. I bought and used an ENTIRE pack of Clorox FLOOR WIPES to clean this room. Every wipe was filthy. Every surface needed cleaning :the headboard, the windowsill, the closet shelf and rod, the bathroom counter- filthy. I was sneezing as if there were 5 cats in the room (I have terrible kitty allergies) Since I was in the room furthest from the office I had NO INTERNET. When I told this to the manager, he just stared at me like there was a language issue. I know there was NOT a language issue when I asked him about the tv remote because he came to the room to push a few buttons on the remote. I had a board meeting Saturday morning that I had to take on the exterior stairs next to the office because the office was too small. One night, there was a party in the room next door that spilled out onto the banister right in front of my room. The manager is on site and did nothing! I'm glad I always travel with my own pillowcase, or I'm sure I would not have slept a wink. I will NEVER stay here again and I would NEVER recommend it. I didn't know 2-3 stars means that the room won't be clean. I just thought it was a no frills situation, which would have been fine, but there is NO VALUE in America's Best Value Inn.

No restaurants or stores within walking distance. Not ideal place to walk around in the dark. The room is fairly clean. Not too far from UCB and good price for a one night stay. This is my second stay here. I didn’t hear any noise from adjacent rooms. Maybe I got lucky. The bed is bad. Needs to replace. The pillows are bad. Hard and flat. The towels are thin and would not absorb water. But if you’re tired, you would just fall asleep quickly like I did. Parking is fairly safe. AC, fridge, microwave worked fine. Overall good stay and not over priced when visiting USB.

We have stayed at this motel before and it was clean and tidy, and in a good location for our needs. This stay, however, was very disappointing. It appeared the bed was made fresh, although the bottom sheet was inside out (did they just turn it over instead of washing it??) The floor had hair and nail clipping and general dust/lint. There was a hair and shampoo stuck to the wall of the shower. There was no bedskirt, instead the zippered cover for the box springs was visibly dirty in several places from previous spills. (I wish I could share the photo with this review.) And, finally, the box spring was not seated properly on the metal frame. We were uncomfortable staying in such a dirty room, and will not be returning to this motel.

Rooms shown are not the rooms they provide. These might be the only 3-4 rooms that are decent on the property. Our room was old, neglected and was not as clean. I thought about checking out but upon asking there was no refunds and of course super bowl weekend makes it much harder to find a place last minute. Was not happy with my stay.
