This property was disappointing. The pictures are deceiving. There is a cracked window pane in the front, and the large windows are 'sweating' and cloudy, with another cracked window pane in the sitting room area. It rained while we were there, and water leaked into the living space in two places -- under the front glass door, and in one of the bedrooms. A bucket and mop inside, next to the front door was a clue that this was an ongoing issue. Minimal kitchen space and supplies. Bedrooms are down three steps and dark, with tiny or no windows. Bathrooms were clean, but one had a shower so small you couldn't raise your hands to wash your hair. First time one of the toilets was flushed, it continued running. When we arrived there was no hot water. These two issues were fixed quickly when reported, but should have been checked before our arrival. Two days in we were freezing, so they let us turn on the radiators, but were told it was an exception, as they weren't allowed to use the power for this beyond a certain date. There was no other means of heating, such as a wood stove, as I have experienced in other villas. Grounds are dingy and seem neglected.
Bottom line: I have been in several villas in Tuscany, all bright and cheery, with thoughtful owners. This owner needs to get their act together, do some needed maintenance and sprucing up, and show some respect for their clients' comfort and welfare.
