  • Situated on the westerly edge of the Forest of Dean and lying within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, the village of English Bicknor is steeped in the history of this fascinating area. From your door you are served with access onto the countryside and ancient woodlands of which you can cross to gain access to Symonds Yat Rock, and just a little further are the banks of the River Wye where you can cross the Wye on the penny ferry or wander on up to Biblins suspension bridge. For the more adventurous there is caving, abseiling and canoeing available from Symonds Yat, and a high wire rope course from Mallards Pike. Bike hire is available with trails that will take you deep into the forest. Visit Puzzlewood and Clearwell with ancient caves, and Ross-on-Wye, with timbered Tudor houses, shops and restaurants.

    The barn is situated within the grounds of the owner’s home and is perfect for any stay in the Forest of Dean. Step into the open-plan living space, with tall ceilings and original barn doors that are fully glazed enhances the barns charm. For relaxing an area with a corner sofa suite and TV where you can catch up after a day exploring. A dining table takes centre stage and is perfect for a family supper. A games area has been set up with table football a table tennis table and darts. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. There is a ground floor bathroom with shower over bath, separate shower and WC. So, when the day is done climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms. A twin room which is part of the mezzanine with single beds and large wall mounted TV which is also great for movies and gaming. A king-size zip-and-link that can be made into twin beds on request when booking, this room is accessed across a small landing via the twin room.

    Outside an enclosed garden area with table and chairs and charcoal BBQ. There is off road parking for two cars and storage for bikes.
