「Fab place. I’ve stayed a few times and it’s always good quality. Staff went above and beyond this visit. Gym was excellent with good quality air con. My room was nice & comfy. I did 3 classes during my stay, all classes were of high quality. I had an evening meal & breakfast, again good quality. I sat out on the veranda overlooking the golf course. I also used the sauna during my visit which was one of the hottest I’ve been in! Top notch! Well done The Essex」

「We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round .」

「This was our breif 1 day honeymoon in the suzanna suite. The whole venue exceeded our expectations. The bed was so comfortable which for a Hotel says alot. Would love to return one day for another stay.」

「This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna. Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime,...
