"Hotel room was really nice and spacious. Friendly staff and helpful. Large carpark for your stay but no electrical ports for electric vehicles so not that eco friendly. On check out after a 2 night stay had to pay £12 parking fee even though there’s no alternative as your in the middle of the countryside so seems rather cheeky, also £1 to plant a tree, I didn’t plant a tree and then £12 service charge, this on top of the hotel cost and the parking fees. "The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again! "

"This was a fantastic find for an overnight stay on our way to Glasgow, wish we could have stayed longer and explored the lake and surrounding areas. The bar and restaurant were very good and the couple who were managing the pub at the time of our stay were excellent hosts. There is plenty of parking and this very old pub has very modern rooms. Would defiantly recommend and stay again. "

Then had a lovely meal downstairs in the Penny Blue restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was served very quickly, and the staff were attentive.
