In the end a HUGE Disappointment!!!
We are very disappointed that the owners did not reach out to us and discuss a fair compensation for the lack of air conditioning during our entire stay & number of items that weren’t working properly such as ceiling fan in living room, no lights on the exterior front & back porches, broken shades, lack of screens on some windows, toilet paper holders fallen off, and walkway into house unsafe. Had the owners offered us a half price discounted stay in the future when the A/C and furnace have been replaced, and other items repaired, we would leave at least a 4 star rating. The stay without A/C was totally uncomfortable, and became increasingly dangerous for our 89 year old mother, and for us. Learning that had we used the furnace the fumes from the broken and rotted flu would have killed us, per what the repairman shared with us when he turned off the gas to ensure that no one could turn it on and accidentally die. We are writing an accurate evaluation of the property so that in the future should the owners decide not to repair the A/C, furnace, and the other items, guests would not end up enduring a most uncomfortable & costly stay. Due to 90+ degree temps we could not use the oven, and cook meals on the stove top only briefly in the morning, as it was just too hot in the house. The owners didn’t offer window air conditioners until the afternoon of the last day. At that point it will take days to cool the house. We were deceived and disrespected!
