"If you book here expect correspondence from Atom Heart Bacalar. We did not know this and thought the message in What’s App was phishing so we ignored it. Once we got that straightened out, things were easier. It is very remote, bring everything you need for food and drink with you. Bacalar stores are about 1/2 hour drive. "This place was very charming and fully equipped. The host is on their A-game making sure that they have thought of everything. It was very clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were quite soft. I really appreciated that there were instructions for all of the appliances. We loved lounging on the deck in the hammock or the loungers."

"We never got a true confirmation or check in information for this property. When we called VRBO (very difficult from abroad) they said this was a false listing (my daughter had to do this in the states as it was too difficult form afar). We eventually was reimbursed but we had to scramble to find a new place late a night on our own."

"Very quiet and private. I enjoyed waking to the birds calling throughout the jungle. The absolute mirror image of the large heron fishing at the waters edge and the groups of parrots flying over were a wonderful sight! Maya Cala was a special find for my family get away! We all enjoyed the Blue Shower! What a view! We are very curious as to what the big creature was that we saw making belly rolls offshore! Could it have been tarpon? "Se contrato un lugar que ofreció en la página de la publicación de tres recamaras, la propiedad contaba únicamente con dos, la ruta para llegar fue sumamente complicada, no hay señalamientos y los caminos son más bien veredas para llegar, lleno de piedras, hoyos realmente una vereda pésima, el precio pagado dista mucho del costó beneficio. "Una experiencia única, en la mitad de la jungla, totalmente natural, con árboles dentro de la habitación. El personal superrrrrr atentos y amigables. El desayuno muy saludable y con ingredientes orgánicos. Mi única anotación es que al ser en la mitad de la jungla y ecologista, pues no hay fumigación y se encuentran todo tipo de insectos dentro de la habitación y en las instalaciones."

"Such a gem of a property, and exactly true to photos. I love to find unique places to stay and this choice was it! They tended to our needs quickly, and even came and cleaned and filled the pool while we were there so our boys could use it all day. The only fallback is it is 30 minutes away from Bacalar, so if you don't have plans to cook on your holiday (that was me) it is a bit of driving. But if you stock up with fruit from the road stands and some food before arriving, you will be glad to stick around the villa if you don't want to leave a lot. Great restaurant recommendations left by the hosts, and we enjoyed the Lagoon Rapids too."

"The villa was in a private garden with a wall for security and parking inside the wall. A suggestion for improvement would be to incrrase the water pressure for the outside showers as it was difficult to wash my hair in the weak stream of water. Also a bigger, more prominent sign to show where the villa is located. There was a big tree stump at the corner where it caused a hazard when returning to the villa after dark with limited lighting. We drove into the stump and damaged the underside of our truck. It really should be cut off at the ground level for safety purposes."
