"I stayed at this motel in Lincoln City, Oregon, and overall I did not feel it was worth the price. One of the biggest disappointments was the pool and hot tub. The property advertises a pool, but the pool was cold and clearly not heated. After looking into it and speaking with the front desk, it seemed the pool heater was not working properly. The hot tub was even worse — it was full of foam and appeared dirty and poorly maintained. After only putting my leg in, I felt like I needed to shower immediately. It was honestly disgusting. The water also did not seem to be filtering properly. What made this especially frustrating is that I was in town to see my mom, who is dying, so I did not have the time or energy to deal with requesting a refund during my stay. I will say the staff was cool about being pet-friendly, which I appreciated, but the pet fee was $65 per pet, which feels excessive for a property in this condition. The motel was in no better shape than a Motel 6, yet it charges more, so to me it just was not worth the cost. Breakfast was okay, just a pretty standard basic motel breakfast. Overall, I was disappointed. Between the dirty hot tub, cold pool, high pet fees, and the overall condition of the property, I would not stay here "

"Great ocean view right on the beach. Room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast every morning was very good. Highly Recommend the Surfland and will definitely be coming back. All staff were extremely helpful also. "

"We had a terrible experience at the Holiday Inn in Lincoln City. Our first night the room keys weren’t working, asked for 2 new ones. Those new room keys stopped working, had to have the front desk person let us inside the room. The next day we left and when we came back we asked for 2 more room keys and then those stopped working. We made SURE not to have them next to any phone or other cards and devices to be safe. After those stopped working the “maintenance” guy came up and changed the battery and also let us inside the room since we were locked out once again. After he changed the battery in the lock we got yet again another 2 keys and those worked twice after not working again. At this point it has to be the lock and after going through all of that we weren’t offered another room or anything. On top of all of that the front sliding doors weren’t working and you had to manually slide them open. There is also only 2 ice machines in the entire hotel, 1 located on the 3rd floor that wasn’t working, the other located on the 1st floor. Rooms were clean, but the fireplaces are no longer working, they also shortened the time that the pool is open. It was previously open until 12am but now closed 2 hours sooner at 10pm "

"The room itself wasn’t anything spectacular considering it was pretty expensive for one night. The shower in the bathtub were a little dirty. The whole room is a little dirty to be honest. They were clumps of hair in the corners of the room. It almost looked like animal hair. The shower and the bathtub had stains in them. The whole reason why I booked this room was for the jet bathtub. I ended up not using the bathtub because it didn’t look very clean. There were no bottles of water in the room and even when I requested some, I was told that they didn’t offer that. I stated much cheaper hotels that offered a bottle water. The room didn’t even have a tissue box. Upon checking in, I asked if we could pay extra for a late checkout, and I was told that they could not accommodate that request. Not a huge deal but again for the cost, and the fact that I was willing to pay extra, I thought it was a little frustrating that they weren’t willing to budge at all. There is no breakfast served at this hotel. There isn’t even a little gift store where you can buy snacks. The staff is friendly enough. I didn’t want to give them a fantastic rating just due to the reluctance of allowing me an extra hour in the room. Nothing too horrible to notes, but again for the price, I will not be booking there again."

"The only complaint i have is the room smelled like animal urine, they should have rooms that are pet free for people who do not have animals other than that the room was clean, staff was nice and friendly, and internet work perfectly. "
