Cozy eclectic cottage where you can reconnect and unwind, designed for couples.

  • Escape the distractions of everyday life and rediscover what matters most at this thoughtfully designed couples retreat in the heart of Chillicothe, Missouri. Blending eclectic mid-century style with modern comfort, this inviting getaway was created for slowing down, reconnecting, and making memories together.

Start your morning with coffee on the spacious deck as the town wakes up around you, then unwind in the evening with a glass of wine while taking in a beautiful Missouri sunset. The private courtyard is your own outdoor oasis, featuring a BBQ grill, cozy fire pit, hammock, and outdoor dining area—perfect for lingering conversations under the stars.

Inside, you'll find a warm, artfully curated space with vintage-inspired touches, comfortable gathering areas, and a bed so inviting you may find yourself sleeping in a little longer than planned.

When you're ready to explore, discover the charm of Chillicothe—known as the Home of Sliced Bread—and stroll through downtown where historic buildings are brought to life with vibrant murals that celebrate the town's rich history and character.

Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, planning a romantic weekend, or simply taking time to reconnect, this unique retreat offers the perfect setting to relax, recharge, and enjoy each other's company.

Cozy Cottage

The Cottage was a great place. I would definitely stay again. It was close to everything we wanted to do. I wish there was a bedroom door that could be closed and somewhere to put clothes other than leaving them in the suitcase. Otherwise we had a wonderful time.

Second Stay in Chillicothe

This was our second time staying at the Meneely guest house with Bobbi. Her hospitality is amazing, the kitchen is well appointed, and the house is quiet and comfortable. This is a great location when we visit Lake Viking less than an hour away. We made use of the grill this time to make hamburgers. We look forward to our next visit to Chillicothe.

Quiet and clean

Other than wishing I could have gotten in a little earlier, that was my fault as I wasn't sure when I would get into town. This was a wonderful place to stay. Enjoyed having the BBQ to use. Only thing is it would have been nice to at least have basic cable to watch local news and TV. Thank you

Perfect Cozy Cottage

First impression - property owner very responsive and quick and easy to get in touch with - so appreciated!. The cottage was immaculate, water hot in seconds and the bed extremely comfortable. All amenities provided and coffee ready to go! I was there with 95 yo mother and access was easy and safe. Beautiful neighborhood, close to groceries and restaurants. If you are in to quilting, there are 16(!) shops within short driving distance. Overall great stay :-)

The Meneely Cottage is everything they advertise. We were so pleased with the location and the furnishings. It is so serviceable and cute. It felt special. We would recommend it to anyone who asks (and did). The Chillicothians are a curious lot. Thank you Bobbie for giving us a true home away from home.
