The Viceroy in Chicago was one of my favorite hotels this year. The staff is beyond friendly and we were made to feel so welcome from check-in and throughout our trip. The rooftop bar has an incredible view of the city and is a great place to grab drinks and lite bites. The bar downstairs in the lobby is great for people watching and is also yummy. You cannot beat the location. Super close to the best shopping and some fun bars and restaurants. I cannot wait to visit Chicago and stay here again.

First of all, the hotel feels cozy and comfortable, and the staff makes the stay easy from the start. The highlight is the 18th-floor bar — absolutely worth visiting. The fusion food is excellent, and the drink list is impressive: premium/luxury spirits as well as more affordable options. The bartender is great and the service is smooth and attentive. Important tip: if you are a hotel guest, you can usually access the bar without waiting in line (non-guests may face a long queue, especially in cold weather). Reception staff is friendly and efficient — any requests are handled quickly. I stayed in a Deluxe room on the 15th floor: cozy, comfortable, with a very nice bathroom. The “lake view” is limited (only a small glimpse), so keep that in mind if the view is important. One small downside: towels and bathrobes looked worn and could be upgraded. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d return.
