Fine place to stay

Communication directly with the property owner was excellent: Rapid, courteous, informative and helpful. However, communication with the intermediate booking service, Homeaway, was pretty bad: Dodgy e-mail link and customer service that was clueless.

Perfect home. All the essentials provided. Well maintained inside and out. The flowers and plants at entry and back patio/yard were a nice touch. Made for many nice photos. Parks nearby, shopping just a 5 minute walk, good food surrounds you. Try Gulliver's weekday pizza specials!!

Northwestern bound

My husband and I had a very nice stay in Evanston! Joan was very accommodating and the house was just right for us, very clean, loved the keyless entry, the Keurig and the proximity to campus (about 10 minutes). Many thanks to Joan and we definitely recommend this VRBO!!

Perfect place to stay

Joan is a wonderful hostess. Her house is super clean, beautifully decorated and is in a perfect location. Whether you want to visit Chicago or Evanston. The house is between two houses, and everything is made of wood. But we have not heard from the neighbors. It is a quiet (and safe) neighborhood. We would love to come back here.

An Ideal Rental

This property was ideal. It was spotless, comfortable, well appointed, well equipped, and in a great location for our 3 week stay in Evanston. Joan was so hospitable and accommodating. She went above and beyond to see that our questions were answered and our needs met. We liked the property so much that we will be staying there again in October. I would highly recommend 1827 Dobson St. for a perfect vacation or visit to Evanston.

Everything was clean, and the house is very nicely decorated. Comfy beds. Nice neighborhood. Great location to see Chicago attractions and sight see around Evanston. Joan is a wonderful Hostess! Takes the time to meet you at the house on your arrival and show you where everything is and how it works. Lovely and quiet residence in south Evanston, Illinois. A beautifully furnished home and quiet yard

Three of us, friends from college, attended our reunion at Northwestern University. We enjoyed its access to campus and the serenity of the quiet street. Parking was very easy, the beds were heavenly and the baths and kitchen were well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, fluffy towels and all the basic kitchen necessities. We enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker and the extra ice and bottled water that were left for us. The back yard was very quiet and pretty. After three nights, we were sorry to leave. We would recommend this listing and hope to return in the future.

Comfortable, clean and well equipped

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Joan's house and she could not have been any more attentive and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the home well stocked with all basic needs and a bowl of fruit for us to enjoy. I called her assistant Anetra concerning a coffee maker option to their supplied keurig coffee maker, when we returned to her home, there was a new drip coffee maker waiting there for us. Her home was sparkling clean with a lovely back yard for us to enjoy our morning coffee in. We found the commute to Chicago for a Cubs game on the train to be very easy from there and also found driving into Chicago to be 45mins to an hour dependent on traffic. Overall we had an outstanding experience and would certainly stay again at Joan's home.

Lovely home with a very helpful owner

We spent 4 days on our first visit to the Chicago area to tour colleges with our daughter and see the city. The house and accommodations were exactly as advertised. Safe neighborhood, easy access to bus/trains into the city. Joan met us upon arrival and was helpful throughout. There was an issue with the bathroom sink and Joan had it replaced within hours. Very pleased and we will return on next trip to Chicago.
