I have had the absolute joy of staying in the APA Hotel Tokyo Bay Makuhari many, many nights over the past 3 years.
I consider this APA to be the "flagship" of the APA hotel chain in Japan. Why? Because this APA has "everything" going for it - spotlessly clean and efficient rooms, spacious lobby and restaurants, wonderful staff that all can speak English, excellent concierge service for guests, good location, and views to Tokyo, Tokyo Bay or Chiba city that would knock your socks off.
The hotel has a wonderful Japanese bath that I used every morning and evening, as well as multiple restaurants and even a Lawsons. There are simple shopping stores also in the restaurant. The pools and facilities are well maintained and easy to access.
The buffet breakfast is one of the most complete I have ever had in Japan, and the views to the pool from the breakfast room is relaxing and wonderful.
The facility is near to the baseball stadium, as well as Makuhari Messe center. I personally always request the tower rooms, since I love the views out to the Tokyo Harbor.
Like I say, I have stayed here many times before, and will always do so again when I am needing to settle into Japan from Narita airport. There is a limousine bus from Narita to the front door of the hotel. There is also a hotel shuttle to the eki station, though it's a kind of long walk with luggage.
I still consider this the flagship of APA hotels in Japan. The best!
