Stopped here when visiting the zoo, the hotels gym and pool were good, the staff were helpful and friendly especially the lady at breakfast she went above and beyond to help us when it came to getting dairy free butter for our daughter, she even brought it out without us even asking the 2nd morning, overall very happy with our stay and will more than likely be back so thanks

This is a very friendly and 'non corporate' feeling hotel and there is a relaxed professionalism with how they go about things. It is very child friendly with a good menu, gardens and pool to help keep the little ones occupied.

The room was basic but clean. Worked well as a base for our Chester Zoo trip to avoid a rush in the morning. The hotel is quite dated but that didn't bother us. Unfortunately we were placed next to a long term stay who we heard hitting/kicking his dog during the night. This was reported and we were told it would be handled correctly. This spoiled our stay as we couldn't settle after this worrying about the poor dog. Breakfast was okay. Staff were friendly, but didn't seem to be many of them to share the workload.

Really nice chilled 2 days here with my wife. What an amazing space this is, beautiful gardens, good gym and pool. A bit old fashioned but oozing character, huge open spaces everywhere you look. Food was nice. Definitely would recommend 👌

what a great hotel and spa, is to locate and easy parking, a brilliant warm welcome and the staff and manager were brilliant and credit to the company. we stayed for 2 nights and really impressed and definitely will be coming back. room was clean and tidy and a great bed, got a lovely sleep.

Greeted by a run down room with stained carpets, stained sheets, filthy headboard and damaged amenities in the room. I left the hotel shortly after checking in and eventually received a refund from Hotels.com

THE ROOM SMELLS OLD AND DIRTY, THE PILLOW HAD DIRT ON THEM DISGUSTING... THE DOOR DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY, TOOK US 5 MINUTES TO GET IT. HAD TO GO BACK TO RECEPTION AFTER A LONG TRAVEL AND WE WERE ALL TIRED. THE JACUZZI DOESN'T WORK, BREAKFAST WAS COLD AND LIMITED. ALSO WHY IS BREAKFAST FROM 6-9 ? NOT GREAT ,AS THERE'S NO FLEXIBILITY. I WOULD LIKE A FULL REFUND!

The hotel was clean and welcoming. The staff were very all very helpful and welcoming. Dinner was exceptional, it was hot tasty and you got a decent plate of food rather than a taster of food. The pool and gym amenities were a great addition to the stay. With the hotel only 10 minutes from Chester Zoo it was a great place to stop to be able to spend the day there and then the pool, hot tub and sauna were great to rest the legs after a long day of walking. Definitely recommend staying here.

The staff we amazing and couldn’t do enough to help me and my children. The bathroom wasn’t perfectly clean and the hotel was quite run down. The pool/gym area was tired looking and needed some TLC. We ordered room service and the food was very good.

The staff were wonderful, and went above and beyond to correct an issue from booking a twin room, which wasn't suitable for 3 travellers. The swimming pool and breakfast were very nice, and soon accommodated my dietary restrictions. Thank you ! Was particularly amazed by the hotel manager, who really did everything he could to help make our stay comfortable.

Plenty parking space, friendly staff and quick check-in but with this heat, the hotel does not offer air conditioning so the corridors aswell as the room were unbearable to be in! A small plastic fan was available in the room. Other than that, there was very little option to deal with the temperature unless you want to spend your night in the shower. Also, our mattress was awful and had a big hole. See pictures. What a shame as the hotel offers a very beautiful garden.

Staff were very friendly and location was close to Chester, only 8 minutes into the town centre. Unfortunately the hotel could do with a big refurbishment. Floor boards were creaky everywhere and especially bad in our bedroom. The changing rooms for the pool smelt. The pool itself is ok although the water wasn't very clear. I was also annoyed that I had booked 2 rooms as there 3 adults in our group, only to find in our room a double bed and then a separate bedroom with a further 2 single beds!

All great except minor points; attention to detail for room extras, small choice on breakfast but perfectly ample, place is a little tired out and they need a lit sign on roadside imo. Staff friendly and attentive.
