"Reasonably nice hotel for a somewhat reasonable price right in the middle of action of VA Beach boardwalk and strip. Helpful and nice staff especially in the restaurant which had a very good breakfast. I’ve stayed in more expensive hotels along the boardwalk which weren’t as nice—notably the Hyatt."

"Check in was easy and the staff was very welcoming. Our view was immaculate and both the room were clean. There is definitely a need for some renovations. The carpets were dingy and tattered and a chair in our one room was stained and moldy so we removed it. One of the lamps also had mildew on it so we put it on the patio. Although both bathrooms looked very nice, but the one obviously had some unrepaired plumbing issues. But again, small things. The location was perfect, loved the coffee, water, and fruit provided, and LOVED the Calypso."
