We stayed on one of their rooms and we were surprised that is clean and look new, the opposite of their building facade. It is next to the main highway so you will hear alot of trucks passing by. They also have free grab n go stuff for breakfast (granola bars and fruit, coffee and teas)

Despite being an older building, the rooms were nice and clean. Beds are a little firm, but still comfortable. Remodeled bathroom was top tier. Our room had an aroma that I attributed to being above the owner's living quarters, where they had been cooking dinner. If visiting Crater Lake, or other local attractions, it's a very convenient location.

A one-night stay during a Crater Lake visit. Room was clean and we had no problems with the overall stay. The hotel is an older and dated property located on Oregon Highway 97, which is a major north/south highway. Traffic noise was pretty much audible all night.

The building exterior was old and rundown, not well upkept. The room was ok, just ok and relatively clean. Shower was tiny. Lots of road noise. Overall, not worth the money. We paid nearly $200. Compared to other central Oregon hotel prices, it should have been under $100, at most.

The price is absolutely ridiculous for this place. The room was clean and everything worked. The smell in the room was awful. There is a hotel across the street that advertised $89 night, which is what this place should have charged. The hotel across the street looked better from the outside. The only good thing is it is about 40 minutes to Crater Lake.

The room was clean, the ac worked well, the location of this property is good (Crater Lake National Park). Bring earplugs, bring an eye mask if light sensitive while sleeping. The nearby road is busy and ac drowns it out a little. The front desk attendant promised coffee and fruit/ granola bars in lobby at 6:30 am and it still wasn't there when we had to depart at 6:45 am.

The picture of the property advertised,is definitely different than it actually appeared, not in a good way! The lodge is located almost in the highway with a gas station next to it and across the street. Room was updated but loud truck noise all night. Onebed had a spring issue. Extremely old, rustic building and in need of paint. Managers were friendly.

The motel is a historic building which in 1929 was a boardinghouse which now has been renovated to a hotel. The room is newly remodeled and had a spacious remodeled bathroom, which we appreciated. There was freshly brewed coffee, granola bars, apples and a variety of tea in the lobby in the morning.

The room was clean, recently remodeled so it looked nice, mattresses were okay.. pillows was a little firm not soft, Had a fridge & Microwave which was a plus..and internet was fine,,Outside could use little more upkeep, But the place is under remodeling so it's understandable..Staff was very friendly and always gave information when asked, There was coffee made in the morning with some apples and granola bars,There was about 5 different places to eat, a Pilot & a Chevron gas station with mini market & good coffee.. The view f/balcony was of the small town, main hwy in front of hotel, trucks passing by & the train twice a day. All in all we did enjoy our stay there.Crater lake isn't too far f/ there, where we were going to visit.

A Best Western or a Hilton it ain't, but there was really nothing wrong with Dawson House Lodge. The air conditioning was ample and easy to operate. A notice posted in the room warned of draconian penalties for smoking in the room, but I checked out smoothly the next morning without any smoking inspection to verify compliance. The information notebook in the room had, among many materials, menus from the two cafes across the road, KJ's and the Ponderosa Lounge. Neither was open when I went out around 7 pm looking for dinner. Ended up at nearby Lupita's Tacqueria.

The lodge appears to be old and run down when you first approach it. The lodge is owned by an Indian family from India. They live upstairs and are in the process of rebuilding this historic site. They have totally remodeled three rooms at this time and they are small but very clean and comfortable. Microwave, fridge and TV are all included. The bed was new and comfortable. Only one other guest stayed the night we were there. It was a nice place to spend the night on our way to Crater Lake. It is on the highway, so highway noise is part of the experience. Traffic was limited at night (thank goodness).
