The bedroom was really nice and clean although the bed had been really creaky and the room was hot. The tv didn’t bar many channels. But the overall experience and room was good. People at the bar were very friendly and the staff were lovely. There was a good vibe and atmosphere.

Lovely old pub right next to Chelmsford rail and bus stations. Very welcoming bar staff. Rooms are really nicely decorated with tea and coffee making and separate secure access. Really great value and centrally located for all Chelmsford has to offer.

I had a really pleasant stay at The Ship. The room was compact but spotless and well-organised, with a comfy single bed, en-suite bathroom, TV, and a side cabinet stocked with tea, coffee, and biscuits—such a thoughtful touch. It had been a long time since I’d slept in a single bed, but it was surprisingly comfortable and perfect for a good night’s rest. The rooms are above the back of the pub - you enter via the stairs from the car park. Parking is. It provided by the pub-it’s by the council and watch out - if you park overnight, you have to be out of the car park by 8 AM. Otherwise you will get a fine! The room was small, but clean and well presented.

Brilliant location for city center. The room was spotless, stocked with a lovely coffee machine, water and biscuits. Gorgeous shampoo and shower gel. The bed and pillows were soooo comfy. The pub had a good vibe and the food was lovely. Honestly couldn’t fault it!
