We stayed 2 nights. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was basic but ok. Location was perfectly near restaurants/shopping. Near the airport making the traveling easier. Shoutout to Mr Jose who was very friendly and help us with some issues in the room. Room 106 smelled of cigarette that’s what we liked the least.

Despite reading previous poor reviews was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, updated, comfortable room with good mattress, pillows, water pressure. Breakfast had variety, did not run out but I was there early, and afternoon cookies were a welcome touch. I must not have been the only one to think well of property as the front and back parking lots were full come night.

Wifi only available to Marriot rewards members, which you can join for free, but is a pain to go through the process. The check-in staff didn't offer any information on when the free breakfast time was or welcome me. Didn't ask for my ID to confirm I was indeed the person on the reservation. When I got to my room on arrival, it was propped open.... Day 2, upon returning for the evening, my key card didn't work. I went to the same hotel clerk that had checked me in. He just asked me my room number, reset the key and handed it to me. I could have given him any number and he would have given me access to that room. Room was totally fine; sheets were clean; hotel was quite; but room did have a bit of a "wet-dog," musty smell to it upon entry, but it faded and wasn't overwhelming. Would really only recommend this hotel to rewards members who want the points. Otherwise it is worth looking into alternative options. A colleague stayed in a cute local hotel in downtown Gastonia that was walkable to local restaurant options.

Upon check in on Thursday I had the pleasure of dealing with a gentleman, His kindness and customer service was the reason my family and I stayed. After learning the pool was being repaired (which I wanted to leave than) but he said it would be up by the weekend and it was. Thank you sir for great customer service. The 5 stars for the staff is because of him.

The only thing is I chose the hotel because of the indoor pool. When I got there the pool was not in service. I was disappointed, also there were zero option meal for vegans so breakfast times are useless to me. I would appreciate some tofu breakfast or vegan options in the future. The gym was great staff was friendly.
