House had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Loved that we weren't required to do a lot of tasks before check-out. The outdoor space is amazing. There are many spaces to be alone or with others. A favorite was the easy to use fire pit. I hosted a small group and had a lot of questions. Every question was quickly answered. House was very clean and comfortable. The ice maker was a nice surprise.
Weekend getaway for events at UNC with friends. Gorgeous home with a lot of character amongst a beautiful wooded area. Owners were delightful and quickly responsive to any questions. HIGHLY recommend.
A wonderful weekend with family and friends at this one-of-a-kind special place. “High Hill” is spectacular in every way, and we would like to thank Erin & Evan for being such gracious hosts. We hope to return soon!
Second time staying here - this time with 3 friends for a quick weekend getaway. The place is perfect for friend/family get togethers. 10-15 min from Franklin St. 20-25 min to Duke Campus. Safe, beautiful neighborhood. Comfortable and spacious. 10/10 - will be back!
Different family members came into town to meet up for a baby shower in Cary. The house was perfect for us 4 couples and two grandchildren. Jackson, aged 4, had the best time playing with his small monster trucks on the rocks inside the house. It was so magical and the house itself is really unique. Beds super comfortable and the house had everything we needed.
Thank you for renting out your place! It is absolutely gorgeous with all the amenities! The nature outside the home was breathtaking! The check-in process was effective! Nothing bad to report about this place! You should try it out!
Wonderful for large family. Plenty of space for socializing and for quiet time. Separate but connected apartment above garage perfect for couple with infant. Surrounding neighborhood is beautiful- great for running hills. Easy access to Chapel Hill and Durham. Will be back!
If you’re looking for a gathering place and privacy… look no further. So convenient to anything in the Chapel Hill area and just flat out enchanting. The architecture and nature are incomparable. Our group truly found this home to be magical in many ways. This might seem over the top, but, we’ve been VRBO users for many years and we’ve never gotten it as right as we did with Erin and Evan’s home.
Architectural Gem: Family Retreat for Entertaining
Our family's Christmas celebration at this VRBO property in Chapel Hill was a delightful experience. Tucked away atop a scenic bluff, this property combines architectural elegance with natural tranquility.
It was ideal for entertaining our local and out-of-town relatives, with its large, fenced yard offering stunning 360° views of the surrounding hardwood-covered hills. The hosts were exceptionally gracious, ensuring our privacy and comfort while being readily available for any assistance, down to providing recommendations for a local massage therapist.
Located just minutes from downtown Chapel Hill, it offers a blend of seclusion and accessibility, making it a highly recommended choice for anyone seeking a distinctive and memorable stay in the area.
We were looking for a home that would accommodate our immediate family and also provide a venue for my daughter’s baby shower and this home was absolutely PERFECT! The home easily accommodated our 30 guests and everyone loved the home and the setting. Every guest wanted a tour.
Everything in the home was also PERFECT. It was well stocked and had everything we needed for a large gathering. The bedroom arrangement was ideal. A Colorado snow storm stranded some of our family, but the rest of us were very comfortable.
I highly recommend this home for a family gathering or a small event. It was truly an architectural gem.
We had a fabulous experience! Perfect weather, environment ( inside and out). Our family celebrated an early Thanksgiving and prepared food in a perfectly supplied kitchen! Plenty of space for all to spread out. Kids loved the Packman and pool table! When can we move in? Hosts available if needed. We would definitely come back!
Location: the area was quiet and wooded, feeling secluded yet still convenient to amenities. The grounds around the home were starkly beautiful. Too cold to take advantage of the fire pit, but we loved looking out the windows onto the woods. The airport was conveniently located as well.Home: perfect for 3 couples and a single friend. LOTs of space to lounge together or have some quiet time apart and alone to read. We used every inch of the well-equipped kitchen to make tons of comfort food (Wegman’s, Harris Teeter, Food Lion, ABC store close by). Coffee could be made with a Keurig or a drip coffee maker). Gas stove. Some of us used the rowing machine/Peloton bike upstairs, while others worked out on the couch watching tv, played Galaga or surfed the web.Water pressure was decent, water got hot—important for cold days/nights. Mattresses were nice and firm, pillows serviceable. My old head and neck will bring my own pillow next time. If/when we return, it’ll definitely be in the Spring when we can play pool outside or just sit and look at the birds/flowers/plants. HOSTS: They were very responsive to our messages and helped to make our reunion as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
This forest oasis surpassed all of our expectations. First, all common rooms were LARGE - with plenty of lounging space for our entire party. There were plenty of comfortable seats when we ate together at the table. The couches were large and comfortable and encourage lounging/napping/game play. The large atrium room had many separate places, so people could interact separately but still see the entire party.Second, the house was gorgeous. The interior had the appearance of a hotel lobby, with large plants and beautiful windows allowing you to feel as if you are outside while still inside.Third, there were plenty of bathrooms, which is not always the case in large rentals. All of the bathrooms were well-stocked with premium supplies. Having stayed in many rental homes, we appreciated having multiple extra rolls of toilet paper and soft, high quality hand towels in each bathroom.Fourth, there were plenty of supplies for the kitchen. Ample paper towels and soap with refills, plenty of trashbags so we didn't feel like we had to cram each bag full, and plenty of recycling paper bags. It felt like staying in someone's home that wanted you to enjoy your stay.Would absolutely book this home again, and I will encourage anyone I know visiting the area to book here. You are four minutes from multiple restaurants and a great grocery store, and you are 10 minutes from downtown Chapel Hill (which has its own plethora of excellent restaurants and grocery stores). Fantastic!
