The room was gorgeous and in a good location. Only thing I would mention is that there were no cleaning services. Also, though this didn’t bother me, because it was in old town Chania, there is no parking and you had to walk bags to the room
The Boutique Hotel Del Doge was the perfect place for a couples getaway in early May. The staff welcomed us with a free drink, and provided excellent recommendations for places to eat, including where to find the best bougatsa. They also kept the hotel and our room spotless and just made us feel welcome every day that we were there.
The hotel has a prime location in the Old Town of Chania, in the old Jewish quarter. The building has been refurbished but in a charming fashion. Our room had a loft where we slept, and a downstairs where a sitting area, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and additional beds were located. We also spent some time sitting on the rooftop patio and getting to know the resident cat.
It was a 1 mn walk to the waterfront with its shops and restaurants, a 5 mn walk downtown, a 15 mn walk to Nea Chora beach, and a 30 mn walk to Chalepa and the Archeological Museum. Really an ideal location, unless you're looking for peace and quiet--in which case we you probably shouldn't be staying in the Old Town of Chania!
I highly recommend the Boutique Hotel Del Doge to anyone who wants to stay in Old Town Chania and is looking for a cute, well-kept hotel with friendly staff.
Amazing location right in the heart of old harbor. Many shops and restaurants close by. Family room was great for 4 adults. Check in was easy and AC worked great!
Beautiful spacious clean room. Housekeeping every day including replacing large bottle of water in room fridge. Perfect location. However, unlike advertised, no breakfast food available as " cook was off sick" all week. Also feel it should be made clearer that it is located about 200 metres into pedestrianised area, quite a distance pulling suitcases through crowds of tourists.
Amazing atmosphere, and a precious time capsule in the middle of old town Chania.
Nice stay with good staff.
Only ting missing was smoke detectors in our rooms.
Wonderful atmospheric hotel in old Venetian building. Rooms are great; period furniture, couches, seating areas and a welcome flask of raki. Very comfy big bed and decent sized telly. George very helpful and pleasant. Chania is a charming old port town to wander around- but also nice to sit around and relax in the hotel and enjoy its comfort and historic atmosphere.
This was our fifth visit overall, stretching back over a decade either as a couple, family of 4, or with more family and friends. The location is fantastic for exploring and enjoying Chania, the staff are always welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are beautifully appointed, even have mattress toppers. Not to mention a welcoming raki in the room!
Nice selection of restaurants within walking distance even with some closed already for the season. Hotel was just as pictured. Very clean and quiet. A little noisy in the morning as stores were setting up but I had the windows open. Staff was pleasant and Marta was particularly helpful. 2 👍👍
We loved our stay at this hotel for the most part, it was a little difficult to find, as the taxi let us off down the alley around the corner. It was a bit noisy at night, we heard a loud argument outside until 3 am one night. The shower is a half open door rainfall, so it is impossible to keep the floor dry. We were able to get ice from the bar downstairs. Laundry is a five minute walk. The room was clean and huge. There isn’t a front desk, just ask for help at the bar. You need a code to enter at off hours. Great location in old town, with tons of shopping and dining options. We would stay again! Chania is beautiful!
We stayed in room 4
The main bed was on the mezzanine level with the lounge and bathroom area below .overall the room was clean ,tidy and spacious with decorative type antiques and solid wood features which we liked.
The room faces the main cobble strip and nightlife does go onto until midnight so there is noise but we didn’t find this disruptive due to being super tired each night.
The staff were fine , we only saw a lady during check in and check out and the housekeeper .
The hotel is also a bar and restaurant and it appeared the bar/restaurant staff had no dealings with the hotel side of things .
My only gripe about the hotel room was 3 mornings in a row there was no hot water. So showers had to be had at night time .
The location is a stones throw away from the harbour and centrally located in the old town , the strip is filled with eateries and souvenirs shop and is very busy , it’s a lovely atmosphere though . The new market/Chania is 5 min-10 walk away as is the bus station .
It only cost €2.50 per person for a single trip from the airport to the bus station, so cheap, quick and very reliable !
I would recommend the hotel to others with my only recommendation being to make hotel staff more visible
On a separate note Expedia states that city tax is required at the hotel but no payment was asked for upon checkout
The Boutique Hotel Del Doge is a fantastic place to stay, I was thoroughly impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff was. If you stay here I recommend you get a drink or two downstairs at the bar and ask them about the city to help you plan out your adventure.
The rooms felt much larger than the pictures show, and the shower had good water pressure. Absolutely fantastic place to bring someone back for the evening (;
Location was key, we were able to get anywhere we wanted in old town with only a short walk. There was so much to do, especially at night, near to the hotel.
Well worth it!!!
Parking was challenging, but otherwise the stay was quite enjoyable.

Cretan Stay
Great location, close to all restaurants, bars and clothing stores. The only issue we had was it was very noisy. People walking past our rear door from midnight till 04:00 - 05:00 in the morning. The staff were fantastic and very helpful.
