Forest Park Country Hotel & Inn, Brockenhurst, New Forest

8/10 Good

"Lovely staff. Unfortunately we stayed when it was very hot. Photos of rooms at the level we stayed at were slightly deceptive - ours was quite small compared to others shown which was disappointing. The fan in the room was not maintained and despite a request it was not swooped. Aircon would be great at the windows do not allow any breeze due to how they open. Sad not to be able to eat outside in the garden where it was cooler than the restaurant."

10/10 Excellent

"We have been visiting Carey’s manor for the last 25 years. In our opinion it just gets better. There are 2 restaurants currently on site, with a 3rd due to reopen later in the summer. We ate at the Zen Garden restaurant this time, and was excellent. The Senspa is well worth a visit and the treatments are expensive but worth it. The location in Brockenhurst is very convenient, with pubs, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Also lots of walking routes from the hotel."

"Lovely stay in Gunwharf Quays. Room was spacious and clean. Staff are friendly and breakfast was delicious and filling. Car parking is in the Gunwharf Quay car park, once you validated your ticket in the hotel you get 24hrs free then £2 per day after. This is really good otherwise it would have cost £28."

"We stayed during the recent heatwave and were put in rooms at the top of the main building which were unbearably hot. The windows could not be opened fully and the small fans were ineffective. I was surprised that the hotel would even suggest putting residents in these rooms without taking action to cool them down - they were unreasonably hot. We also had dogs with us and could not have had them in the room for any significant period without it being dangerous to their health. I complained as we went to dinner (we had arrived at around 7.30 pm) Kieran in reception seemed surprised that I had a serious issue with the situation and was uncertain what action to take. Fortunately we mentioned it to Kelsey in the restaurant who leapt into action and arranged to take two air conditioning units out of the "pods" in the garden and move them up to the rooms. By the time we had eaten the room temperature had dropped to a more manageable level. I do not think the we would have been able to stay at the hotel if Kelsey had not taken action to resolve the situation. She was a star. Our meal was excellent, and overall it was a good stay."

"Excellent hotel, convenient location, good air conditioning, really good food at the restaurant. Aside from one slightly stroppy lady behind the bar, the staff were attentive and helpful. The only thing I didn't like was having to pay additional for parking in the hotel car park."
