Walk to the Opera. Sleep in style.
This property was built in1869 and was the St. Luke’s Hospital for a short time. It was in terrible shape when we purchased it so unfortunately nothing could be salvaged in the interior of the house but most of the exterior is original. We purchased the home in 2003 and completely remodeled the interior with all modern conveniences. There are three comfortable bedrooms. The bathrooms are one full with a claw foot tub and a half bath off the master bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped that any cook would enjoy. The large patio outside has a great sitting area to relax and appreciate the view or you can sit on the front porch among the Aspen trees. The house is located on a quiet dead end street but you are only a 5 minute walk to the Casinos or Opera House in Central City. There is off street parking which is a huge plus since the roads are narrow and steep in places. Loveland and Eldora Ski resorts are a 30 minute drive. But be sure to see if Central City is having any of their fun festivals going on by just going to their website for a calendar of events and you can walk down to them and enjoy with no driving hassle. Please be respectful of our home. We have beautiful antiques and want your stay to be amazing. It is not at all a party house and we have neighbors close by. This is also NOT a pet friendly home so please respect that for our guest who have allergies.

We came to visit our college aged son and stayed at this house! The place was spectacular, from the cleanliness, comfort of furniture and how well the kitchen was stocked!
We will be back!!
Very pretty, historic, comfortable, adorably furnished property. In Central City/Blackhawk. Lots of casinos of you gamble. It had everything we needed and the beds were so comfortable! Tracy was veryresponsive to any inquiries we had
Lovely home, clean and well equipped. Would recommend for a couple or small family.
We are an elderly couple, and suggest a handrail be installed at the front steps, and access to a washer and dryer would be nice.
This place was a gem!! 5+ Stars! It was perfect and roomy for two couples. Very clean. Comfortable. Safe. Plenty of needed items including a lot of bath towels, blankets and even fans in the room. We loved the patio. Don’t skip this property.

The house is absolutely beautiful! The owners of this property hit it out of the park with the interior and exterior decor. The house was cozy and perfect temperature day and night and the beds are very comfy. We met a couple of the neighbors and they were very friendly and sat and talked a while. The kitchen was well stocked as was the linen and the outside seating and view was perfect! The location to shops and casinos was perfect. We sat on the porch and listened to a live band that was playing at a pub in central city it was great we got to enjoy without having to deal with crowds of people. Thank you to the Sinner family for a perfect get away!!!
The house is inviting and cozy. The front porch and the patio were perfect for sitting and drinking coffee in the morning then sipping wine in the evening. We actually decided to spend an evening just watching "chick flix" because we were enjoying the house so much. The beds are comfortable with extra blankets if needed. The streets are very narrow in Central City and getting to the house made me a bit nervous so I would recommend getting there before dark when you arrive. No problem once you are more familiar with the street. So much history in the area and the locals are very inviting. It was a great away weekend for just the girls.
Tracy,
We absolutely loved the property! Very comfortable, fabulous beds, well stocked kitchen with all the needed appliance. Great kitchen tools!! (My wife appreciated a pizza cutter and great knives for cooking and coffee pot). The views from the patio were spectacular!! Central City is a quaint city with rich history, we enjoyed reading the book on it’s history, as well as you pictorial book of you remodel. The roads were a little narrow. I would suggest printing out a map, as we didnt have great cell service for GPS and took a few wrong turns. Make sure you take a look at all the antiques in the house from around the area. Fascinating!! Shopping in Idaho Springs and near The Monarch were fun. St Mary’s Glacier amazing. We truly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property. Tracy was quick to respond to any of our questions.
Thanks,
Tom and Mary Ellen
The house was exactly as the listing shows. The roads to get to the house are very steep and basically one lane. They were plowed at any sign of snow so it was no big deal. It was just a little scary for this weak one. It was very beautiful with the snow. My only compliant is the heating and its not really a compliant. The first night the bedrooms didn’t warm at all even though i had the thermostat set to 70. It was 60 when we woke up. We lit a fire in the living room and it warmed the house up. I would suggest maybe getting a couple of space heaters just in case. I think it was too cold outside for the floor heaters to keep up. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this place to others.
So cute!! So comfortable! Great beds! Beautiful antique furnishings and claw foot tub!!!! Road/Street was really steep and narrow but doable!!!! Great views from beautiful patio!!!
Very comfortable, much more spacious than I thought it was from photos. Mornings out on the patio with a cup of coffee were my favorite times. A great rental for our small family group, and loved all the cute antique touches. Only issue we had was navigating the narrow roads and parking with our F350 - luckily a neighbor stepped out to help us. If you're looking for an alternative to the casinos while you're in Blackhawk, this is a great option.
The property is located on a hillside and the roads are a little tricky on winter days but quite manageable with an SUV. The house itself is very well furnished and has a lots of objects of historical interest. You could spend hours indoors just looking through all of their collection. The rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated. The main bath has a clawfoot tub which can be challenging for older people-just something to keep in mind if you are travelling with seniors. The town is just a short walk and has many historical properties and the casinos are a draw as well. I would love to visit this home again in summer.
