Great for the money

Great value for the money!

Great place to stay, budget friendly for sure! Staff at desk very accommodating, room sparsely furnished but comfortable bed and clean bathroom was what we were looking for as we only stayed one night, close to airport for flight that left early next morning, overall excellent, would definitely recommend this hotel!

Location was good for ease on and off the highway. Price point was lower than the Northern area of Cedar Rapids. Breakfast area was clean, but the floors throughout the rest of the property were filthy. A woman, presumed to be homeless was staying just to the right of the front doors with a cart and multiple black garbage bags, a bit uncomfortable being greeted this way. Staff were pleasant and demure.

I would like a room that had all door handles intact, clean hallway floors, light fixtures in hallway that aren't lying on the floor, entrance door without a huge gap, no mold on the bathroom walls and no PUBIC hairs in the bathtub!

No exhaust fans in the rooms. There was only a hallway light, none in the actual room area. The desk chair was cheap. The TV was small. I tried to check in but had to come back and hour later because no one would answer the phone. The juice machine was broken. Breakfast was ok otherwise and it was quiet. AC worked. No screen on the window so when you open it to air it out, bugs can come in.

The room itself was clean and remodeled. However they’re using something on the floor that makes the flooring feel oily or greasy to your feet. They are in the midst of renovating many of the rooms so a lot of them are out of service. It was okay for a night but hopefully they’ll get more of the rooms and hallways renovated so it doesn’t feel so chaotic.

Please note that my review has no reflection of the staff. The staff was very nice. Peter at the front desk was super helpful and accommodating, whenever I needed anything, he did not hesitate to assist, from pliers to Band-Aids, he had me covered. He even assisted me with directions to Walmart. my room was OK. There was a bloodstain on the mattress which you could see through the bedsheet. The toilet bowl is completely cracked, which had me nervous when I needed to use it as I was afraid it would break. Complementary breakfast was not as I expected. The boiled eggs had a funny smell and felt like they were probably two weeks old. I would not recommend this place, but I would stay here again only because of the service which was great.

I will start with the one good thing, the front desk guy was very nice. However the rest of the experience was horrible. I was coming in from out of town and received a phone call asking when I would be checking in…I was on the road and found it odd for a hotel to call me and ask when I would be there When I arrived, I could tell by the area around the place it did was not friendly at all. There are a lot of random transients and homeless who frequent this particular area. The lobby looked clean enough…simple for little $$. When I went to walk up the stairs is when I noticed all the stains and spots in the carpets, chipped paint in the hallway, etc. the room seemed clean but again repeated the theme if stained floors. I thought to myself its just a short overnight you will be fine. Until I went to the bathroom and looked at the shower where there was a filthy moldy bath mat covering up and even more dirty disgusting moldy in the tub. I was absolutely horrified!!! I just wanted a nice hot shower and clean sheets! I asked to move and the next bathtub was at least clean but had stains on it and the shower fixtures were severely outdated. Unsafe area, dirty floors (had to leave my socks on I was so grossed out!) The dirty tub just did it for me…

Best thing was the bathroom was faily new, and clean. Carpet throughout the hotel was HORRIBLY filthy, which presented bad odors everywhere. Staff was helpful. Outside was not very appealing, and felt unsafe in the back where we had to park.
