We had an amazing stay in Cedar. The hosts are very kind and accomodating. They took us on a tour of the farm, gifted us a dozen fresh eggs for our stay and a bundle of fresh picked lavendar at our departure. The view of the lake (and farm animals!) from the front porch is great. We enjoyed taking a short walk down to Lake Leelanau to swim and fish daily as well. Our kids ages 14, 11, and 9 had a great time as well!
The house was very comfortable for our family of four (w/two teenage girls). The owners are lovely and it was fun to be on a working farm. Keep in mind it is a working farm so there is activity and animals roaming around. Owners have beachfront access short walk down the road. Charming decor (not your usual Ikea AirBnB) and thoughtful touches like fresh eggs for breakfast are included.
We had a great time. Our two sons (7 and 4) loved playing outside with the pigs, chickens, geese, and goats. Close to Traverse City an close to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Awesome hospitality.
The nicest experience that I could have ever shared with grandchildren and family.
The farm was wonderful with all the animals.
The short walk to the lake was great.
The owners outdid themselves to welcome us.
We also visited her Polish Heritage store in Cedar -- that's quite an experience also.
It's not too often you get to see someone like Kathleen back up a more trailer to her truck, ride around on a tractor, care for the animals and then keep a pit fire going all day and evening with many a S'mores .
thank you for the incredible "Up North" adventure.

Cozy and comfortable stay down on the farm!
We really enjoyed our stay at this comfortable home in a farm setting. My family, including my parents and daughters, stayed at this location for 4 nights and we had the best time. Close to many wineries, shops, beaches and beautiful scenery. The house was well equipped and the beds are comfortable so after a day of exploring, we were able to kick back and relax. Drinking coffee in the morning on the deck and taking in the landscape is truly breathtaking and unique. While checking out the lake in the distance, you are also entertained by the chickens, ducks, pigs and goats on the farm. We really appreciated the experience of getting up close to farm life. The hosts are very friendly and a farm tour is included in your stay. Truly a unique experience that we look forward to doing again.

A fun and unique way to enjoy Lake Leelanau.
We had a great time staying in the farmhouse! The farm sits on a hillside overlooking Lake Leelanau, which you get a view of (along with trees and other scenery) from the front windows and porch. The owners are a couple who have put their heart and soul into the farm and house. The house is imaginatively decorated, with countless clever touches that you will still be discovering several days into your stay. It’s also quite comfortable, with modern air conditioning, beds, kitchen amenities, leather furniture etc. Staying on the farm is fun, and offers a unique experience compared to a “conventional” lake property. The animals are a delight – chickens, ducks and other fowl mill about the property while pigs and goats largely stick to their (spacious) pens. For foodies, or anyone interested in foods produced with great passion and care, the farm offers a selection of meats in addition to plenty of fresh eggs and produce. We tried the pork chops, bacon and sausage, all of which were terrific. The pork chops are about the best we’ve ever had.
Lake access can be had just a short walk down the hill to a dock, where we tied up a 17-foot ski boat with no problems. The lake bottom up to and beyond the dock is nice and sandy, with clear water that is about thigh-to-waist deep at the end of the dock. It’s a lovely swimming spot for all ages. Venturing out on the boat, we found large sandbars just to south. These provide a great spot to drop anchor and while away the afternoon in clear knee-deep water with a beautiful lake all around you.
We spent most evenings by a fire, at one of the two fire pits – one down by the lake, and another up the hill not far from a wooded area. Either one offers starry skies above, and a great way to end another fun day on the farm.
