Hotel Sophia

Hotel is ok, old but clean and nicely located We did hear a lot of outside noises but nothing that kept us awake. Most of the staff were friendly. We had some spotty maid service, they lightly cleaned our room but didn’t change our sheets for the entire 10 day stay

The hotel is in the centre everthing is near but cleanes is not the best the bed is not that confort but for the price we paid is good

Unfortunately, the room had many issues. The most problematic was that the room door wouldn’t lock properly. I slept with the door open, so I worried all night. I tried to check in earlier, and that was difficult too as the person in the front kept making me wait for a long time. I didn’t enjoy this hotel.

Scannen des Passes ist in der Eu nicht gestattet!

Bei Ankunft wollten sie denn Reispass scannen, dies ist gemäß der europäischen Datenschutz grundverordnung verboten. Das italienische meldegesetz fordert kein Foto ! Der Vermieter muss den Reisepass natürlich prüfen, Nummer und Namen dokumentieren und das Geburtsdatum. Es besteht kein Recht das Foto des Gastes und des Signatur Körpergröße Augenfarbe etc. abzuspeichern. Italien gehört zur europäischen Union somit gilt europäisches Recht. Nicht notwendige Daten dürfen nicht gespeichert werden.!Unterkunft liegt zentral.Ausstattung ist einfach aber sauber . Personal sehr nett.Klimaanlage bzw Heizung gut.

Hotel nella media, semplice e scarno. Comodo perché da sulla via principale di Catania. Abbiamo avuto un problema con la camera, subito risolto con cambio camera. Unico problema, l'insonorizzazione sia esterna che interna, si sentiva sia camminava in corridoio che qualsiasi cosa succedesse in strada.

Noisy , impossible to sleep

The hotel is very well located, the cleaning is good but it has a huge problem that ruins everything: it is very noisy. The hotel is located in a building with other 2 establishments that I think are own and run by the same owners. The building has huge pluming problems that generate enormous noise from the bathroom that makes sleeping impossible. I was in room 205 and the noise was so loud that I did no sleep anything on the first night , I was then moved to a new room ( actually the workers private room) on the same floor in the Costanza hotel were the problem also existed existed. The issue in known the the staff. When I complained about the room 205 I was told by the front desk staff that no problem was found , yet when I was given the tour of the room at Costanza hotel, as soon as we walked in the bathroom the noise started in the pipes and the front desk worker nervously made a dash to the sink faucet and open it at which point the noice stopped! The only thing that made this bearable was that this room was bigger and the door was better at insulating the noise ( room 205 had a sliding door) so the noise sounded as if someone was sleeping in the next room and was snoring heavily.

Comfortable and convenient

The hotel room (Hotel Costanza) seemed to be newly renovated, very clean and it was very spacious. Very close to the centre and just in the middle of the shopping area of Catania on Via Etnea. For us it was very convenient.

Great place to stay if you only need a hotel to rest your head. If driving there is a gated lot a block or two north of the hotel. Call a head to get info and phone number for parking.

Die erste Übernachtung vor einer Woche war toll. Schön es Zimmer und großartiger Ausblick. Nun war das Zimmer richtig schlecht. Milchglasfenster, alles dunkel und verbaut. Bad im schlechten Zustand. Keine Lust sich da zu duschen.
