キャッスル パーク ツアーとアクティビティ

Just east of Belfast, the small seaside town of Bangor in County Down is a quiet place to get away, close to the Northern Irish capital. The picturesque Castle Park at Bangor’s centre makes an ideal spot for a tranquil moment of reflection.

Comprised mostly of old woodland, Castle Park has a beautiful historic walled garden. The walled garden’s café is a lovely place to put your feet up with a coffee while the birds and bees fly about nearby. Tucked away from the bustle of Bangor, the garden attracts a range of wildlife too – from squirrels to birds and even small mammals – making this a popular picture spot for amateur photographers.

However, Castle Park is more than just a peaceful place to rest awhile. History lovers should pay a visit the North Down Museum, situated at the centre of Castle Park. Packing a lot into a small space, the museum traces the history of the area from the Bronze Age to the present day. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday. Like the walled garden, there is an excellent café here where you can grab a bite to eat and soak up the surrounds.

Last but not least, the 19th century Bangor Castle is also situated in Castle Park. Now home to the local council offices, it is not open to visitors, but nevertheless makes a grand backdrop against the surrounding greenery. So, if you’re visiting Bangor, be sure to take a stroll through Castle Park.
