Wonderful stay in the superior room. Beautiful room with amazing views. Very convenient to dining and tour meet ups. The staff was very attentive when issues arose. Carlos, our bird tour guide, was very professional and extremely well informed.
This is an awesome place to stay!! The room was perfect, the views, the trails. I consider there's no better place on San Gerardo de Dota to visit and stay!! Will return obviously to this place!!
The hotel is very nice; the room was very comfortable and the view is amazing. The private trails are great, it is advisable to use confortable shoes and a walking stick. The food at the restaurant is good.
Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is truly a special place. The cabins sit along the edge of the cloud forest, with sweeping views that bring nature right to your rooms, making everything feel alive and immersive.
The hiking trails are rigorous yet rewarding, beautiful, quiet, and perfect for spotting rare birds and wildlife you don’t often see elsewhere. By day, the scenery is lush and vibrant; at night, the peaceful darkness settles in and feels wonderfully remote.
If there’s one opportunity to improve, it would be the dinner service in the restaurant - on certain evenings, the wait can be quite long, though the food itself is excellent once it arrives.
Overall, a memorable blend of comfort, serenity, and unforgettable nature.
Lovely place with incredible views and very nice staff. The food is good, not great, but good enough! It's expensive so you expect more but overall, it's a nice place for a couple of nights.
This hotel was wonderful; the tour guides were particularly knowledgeable and also great with kids! We enjoyed the restaurant and especially the views from the rooms (we had 3, and all were incredible). It is a bit of a walk through the cloud forest to the rooms, but there is help for luggage, and it's exactly the kind of walk you come to Costa Rica to take! Thank you Dantica!
2nd time in this place. It was way better! We were lucky to book on a lonely weekend so we were upgraded for free!
We enjoyed a superb bungalow with so many cool gadgets and surroundings.
This time we had the chance to walk through the trails and had a great time getting to know the property.
Totally recommended!
YEs its a long walk to the bungalow but its worth it!
The room was amazing with the full windows, the jacuzzi bath and nice bed. The food was fabulous. We saw quetzals on the tour and I took a wonderful horseback ride as well
Thank you!
This was an amazing place !! Was upgraded to their nwest room with huge windows. It was qlabout a 10 minute walk from room to main office/ parking
The hiking trails there were amazing. They carried our bags in and out for us witch was great!!! Lots of fun small craft stores. Would love to spend a few extra days and explore this area. Very cool at night, around 55 F.
The hotel is absolutely unique. We were in cabin 14and was literally living in the jungle with floor to ceiling windows. So peaceful to watch nature with our own viewing deck. Excellent restaurant and staff were great. We went in late march and it was very cool being at higher altitude so maybe take a jacket. Well worth the trip!!!!!
We loved our superior forest bungalow overlooking the cloud forest. It was super cozy and very quiet. We were visited by many hummingbirds on our little deck. The restaurant was top notch - very pretty and intimate and the food was amazing. It was a great place for bird watching at breakfast and lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I loved the serenity of the cloud forest and views. I really wanted a way to open a screened window for a cool, natural breeze and to listen to bird song, while still being able to lock the doors. It was quieter than expected given the proximity of the road (very few cars travel it), but also a little less private that I desired with the other guests walking by. The staff were extremely helpful and engaging - a really nice part of the experience.
