The staff was the highlight of the stay! For a budget hotel, this place was amazing and had everything we needed for 7 days. It was close to everything, breakfast included, good AC and the warmest staff. They made you feel like home!

The staff were very kind and attentive. Breakfast was made individually every day and felt very local. The location is great since it’s not right in the middle of everything but it’s definitely walking distance.

Excellent location and staff

Breakfast was always delicious, and the coffee is amazing. Staff went out of their way to help us out, and Leo and Alba gave great advice on where to go and what to do. You can order tours of the Rosario Islands through the hotel. I got used to the cold water showers quickly.

Beautiful and wonderful stay

What a fabulous stay. All the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and Cristian especially was such a gem. Nothing was too much trouble. Great rooftop area with views of the castle. The hotel is just beautifully decorated and rooms big, cool and comfortable. Excellent location, would highly recommend.

Fantastic stay

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Breakfast was perfect to start the day.. coffee…fantastic. We throughly enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi. One thing is there is no hot water in the shower.. apparently this is in the entire area.. cool showers were great and definitely not a deterrent for a return stay. Staff and owner very accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely stay here if we come back to Cartagena. Highly recommend this hotel.

Location and Love

We first booked this hotel because of the location. Everything is walkable, but not in the middle of the action so it's quiet. The best part was the owners and staff. Everyone is friendly but the owners went above and beyond when they bought me a birthday cake and sang happy birthday and sat with us. There is fresh breakfast everyday, that was delicious. There's a really nice patio upstairs with a great view. This is a sweet little hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Nuestra estancia en Hotel Patio de Getsemaní fue simplemente espectacular. Desde el primer día hasta el último, nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Queremos agradecer especialmente a su encargado, Leo, por ser una persona tan atenta, responsable y dedicada. Siempre estuvo pendiente de que todo funcionara perfectamente y de que nuestra experiencia fuera la mejor posible. Se nota el gran compromiso y cariño que tiene por su propiedad y por sus huéspedes. También queremos reconocer a todas sus empleadas, Eimy, Alba, Pierre y Marlis quienes fueron increíbles durante toda nuestra estadía. Son muy amables, atentas, responsables y siempre reciben a uno con una sonrisa y una excelente actitud. Realmente hacen que el ambiente sea acogedor y familiar. Algo que nos encantó fue que durante los cinco días que estuvimos allí nos ayudaron muchísimo con recomendaciones de tours, lugares importantes para visitar en Cartagena y hasta nos apoyaron con registros y coordinaciones. Gracias a ellos pudimos disfrutar aún más la ciudad y sus hermosas playas. Y no podemos dejar de mencionar el delicioso desayuno cada mañana: excelente café, fruta fresca, huevos preparados al momento y pan tostado muy rico. Un desayuno completo y de gran calidad para empezar bien el día. Definitivamente volveremos otra vez y por más tiempo. Hotel Patio de Getsemaní será siempre nuestro lugar favorito para hospedarnos y explorar Cartagena. ¡Mil gracias por todo!

The place is nice but the entrance is a bit annoying and out of the way. You have to ring a bell to come in and have the staff open the door to get out. No big deal but I wish I could just come and go as I please without having to bother anyone.

Tive uma excelente experiência no Hotel Patio Getsemaní e gostaria de registrar minha sincera gratidão por toda a hospitalidade recebida. Desde a chegada, fomos acolhidos com muito carinho, simpatia e atenção genuína por parte de toda a equipe. Um agradecimento especial ao Léo, à Alba e a Pier, que foram simplesmente excepcionais durante toda a estadia. Sempre atentos, prestativos e muito simpáticos, demonstraram grande dedicação em servir e ajudar no que fosse necessário, tornando a experiência ainda mais agradável e tranquila. A localização do hotel é um grande diferencial. Está próximo à Plaza de la Trinidad, à Cidade Murada e ao Castelo de San Felipe de Barajas, permitindo fazer praticamente todos os passeios a pé. Recomendo muito explorar a região caminhando, pois isso torna a vivência em Cartagena ainda mais especial. Vale mencionar que a cidade de Cartagena, enfrenta limitações relacionadas ao abastecimento de água doce, o que pode influenciar a pressão dos chuveiros. Ainda assim, isso faz parte da realidade local e não diminui em nada a qualidade do atendimento e o cuidado oferecido pela equipe. O que realmente marca a experiência é a hospitalidade, a educação e o carinho constantes de todos. É o tipo de lugar que faz o hóspede se sentir bem-vindo e com vontade de voltar.

Pros: great location for exploring Getsemani, super friendly staff, affordable, rooftop terrace, free breakfast was served, and having a check out time of 1pm was really nice. Cons: wifi didn’t work in our room for majority of the time and room doesn’t block out sound from outside so it’s a little difficult for light sleepers in the early morning and night. *no hot water, but the lukewarm water was definitely not a problem with the hot climate of Cartagena

Location: by the sea wall. Where it is part of the walking tour, my room was room 11 has a balcony overlooking San Felipe Castle (20 mins walk from the hotel). Everything was within walking distance, 20 mins to the clock tower. Lots of dining options around the block. Airport is about 30 mins away with traffic, around 25,000 colombian peso (US$1 = 3,800 in money changer place). The area is safe as well, I travelled solo and no problems walking in the anytime. The most I was out was around 11pm. Many people hang out by the wall and it has a security guard 24/7. Room: quite very noisy up to 12 midnight, it’s on the main road. If you’re a light sleeper then this room is not for you (rooms 12 and 11). But this didn’t bother me, I stayed for 4 nights and slept well. Water pressure in the shower, faucet and toilet flush is good. 2nd floor walk up. Third floor has the open terrace and has a jet tub, I didn’t have the chance to try it, kinda humid and mostly it rains every evening. All channels in TV are in Spanish. AC is excellent, no problem with it. No hot water, but you don’t need it, it comes out lukewarm after a few minutes. It’s a small room just enough for two people. Breakfast: has 2 eggs everyday (sunny side and scrambled) fruits, fresh juice and the Colombian coffee is delish, I rarely drink coffee but i drank it for 4 days, it’s just that good. Staff: the owner and everyone from the front desk to housekeeping are very helpful. I highly recommend this place.
