From the moment you walk in the door, Julia and her team are outstanding. Nothing is to much trouble. So helpful with everything. The rooms are super clean. Lovely pool area too. This was our second visit to the LC and it won’t be our last!

Had a lovely stay at the Lord Charles. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided. Lovely pool area and the staff were polite and helpful. Pool area is very relaxing. Very quiet as well. Would stay here again!

We had a wonderful warm welcome and a huge smile from Belinda who was on reception. Belinda managed to check us in to our rooms a little earlier, which was very much appreciated.

Real warm welcome, arriving early Gerard did his utmost to get a room straight away. Sean the F&B manager special mention for his way of handling staff AND guests, fantastic hospitality. And very special mentioning for Griszelda: summum of True Friendliness and smiles. She even found out our son’s 40th anniversary and conposed and sang for him in the restaurant. The hotel is great and check-in was easy and effortless. I just wanted to make some suggestions: review the breakfast selection and quality and compare with other hotels to ensure its great quality and varied. Pay attention to the small details, at the rate you offer you can include a turn down service, make sure the mattress converters are new as the one in my room was old and worn (i could feel the middle of the bed). Also improve the professionality of your service. Small tweaks can turn your hotel from ok/fine to great! It will also ensure a return guest instead of being a once-off. The staff is very helpful, but perhaps train them to be forward thinking and focussed on great service.

The property is beautiful and set in large grounds. The tennis courts are in excellent condition. The pool is lovely and has a great sitting area next to the pool. The pool isn’t heated so we found it too cold to swim. However, there were people using the pool. The breakfast is very nice. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our room just had a large shower and no bath. The shower was large and the water pressure was very good. I can recommend staying here.

Great but requires some maintenance

Everything was excellent, wonderful location, brilliant bedding, great service. Only issue was there was a leak in my room with a dripping tap or aircon that kept me awake most of the night. I reported it the next morning and staff said “sorry, we will het it fixed”. I only stayed one night so didn’t benefit from that.

I made a special request prior to check in that was forgotten by the hotel, house keeping woke me up at 8:30am and just barged in. Also 100 rands fee for room service sounds like a scam, I stayed in hundreds of hotels of this level and was never charged that. The property and breakfast are nice, rooms are comfortable, but service needs to be improved to justify the price.
