Walmer Estate is one of Cape Town’s most characterful hillside neighbourhoods, positioned on the slopes of Devil’s Peak with beautiful views stretching across the city and harbour.

The home is located on Adelaide Street, in the elevated part of the neighbourhood where the mountain rises directly behind you and the harbour opens up in front.

One of the best ways to experience the area is simply on foot - the steep, angled streets climb and curve along the mountain, with different views appearing as you walk between the quiet residential roads and historic homes.

The location feels removed from the busy city below while still being incredibly central. A large hotel is just one street away, with Woodstock, the City Bowl and Cape Town’s main attractions all within easy reach.

It’s a great neighbourhood for guests who want a more authentic residential side of Cape Town - mountain surroundings, impressive views and a peaceful base close to the city.

Getting around from Walmer Estate is easy. Uber and Bolt operate throughout Cape Town and are usually the simplest option for reaching the CBD, V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Camps Bay and the surrounding neighbourhoods.

The property also has convenient access to Nelson Mandela Boulevard and the N2, making it an excellent base if you have your own or a rental car. Secure tandem garage parking is available for two vehicles.

Walmer Estate itself is wonderful to explore on foot, particularly the elevated streets running along the slopes of Devil’s Peak. The roads are steep in places, but the reward is beautiful mountain, city and harbour views as you walk through the neighbourhood.

For evenings or trips into the city, we recommend Uber or Bolt rather than walking longer distances.
