I had a truly wonderful stay at Cape Diem Lodge. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and cared for, and I’d especially like to highlight the night porter, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable. His attentiveness and warmth made a big difference in my stay. The location was perfect—tucked away on a quiet, secluded street that gave me a sense of privacy, yet just a short walk to shops, the pier, and plenty of restaurants. I really appreciated having that balance of calm and convenience. My room was excellent. The layout was unique and interesting, but also very comfortable, with everything I needed to feel at home. Overall, Cape Diem Lodge offered a mix of charm, comfort, and exceptional service. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town and look forward to staying again.

Great Stay

A lovely greeting from Carly on arrival with the offer of complimentary refreshments and nibbles which was very nice. Parking was excellent as we were able to make use of the garage throughout our stay. Very comfortable room and bathroom with excellent shower and bath (albeit we didnt use the bath). The only downside was the lack of storage in the room which was a bit tight. We were offered a late checkout on our room on the last day by Carly which was very useful and appreciated. Up a pretty steep hill, it is about 15 minutes to walk down to the V&A and other restaurants, plus a Woolworths (M&S) at the end of the street.

Home away from home

My home away from home, I've no other words to describe my stay at Cape Diem Lodge. The excellent experience already started at arrival at the airport when the more than kind driver of my transfer (arranged by the hotel) awaited me. Despite my late arrival in Cape Town, the reception at the hotel by the night porter was also perfect and made me feel really welcome. An experience that continued the following days. From the staff at breakfast and in the office until the gardener and housekeeping, everybody was so friendly and always willing to help and make my stay as enjoyable as possible. My room (number 3) was also excellent and absolutely value for money with a very comfortable bed, spacious shower, more than enough seating options and this all nice and clean. Breakfast offered more than enough options, perhaps even more than can be expected for a small sized hotel. In the afternoon some snacks and drinks are available as well. The overall 'vibe' of the hotel is really nice as well, very comfortable, modern yet stylish and with respect for the age and style of the building. Because of the size, the hotel also has a sort of cosy feeling. Parking of my rental car wasn't an issue either and is perfectly safe. Both across of the entrance along the street as well as in the parking garage is space available. All in all I would definitely recommend a stay at Cape Diem Lodge!

Such a great stay at this cute property! The house is super old with amazing high ceilings and hard wood floors. Bianca was amazing and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The neighborhood felt safe and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Check out this gem in Green Point.

Vashna was the manager and she checked in with us to ensure we had all the information and suggestions for a great day…. Such as restaurants, things to do and even got us a driver to hire for the day to take us sight seeing and hiking up around Cape Hope. I felt very taken care of. The wifi was great in our room and the little fridge with wine and beer was great too! The room was clean and i took advantage of the big bathtub including the bath salts 2 of the 5 nights we were there. Thank you so much Vashna and team!

Good location very secure friendly staff not as clean as should be such as bedding not changed Regularly in our room Worse thing was charged again when checked out even though I said I had paid in full which I Confirmed from hotels.com and then had to make numerous expensive calls to get it sorted (still waiting for refund 4 days after leaving)

Perfekte Lage in Green Point um in ca 15 min zu Fuss sowohl an die Waterfront als auch zur Long Street zu kommen. Die Lodge hat richtig Charme, unser Zimmer war eine Mischung aus old style Wohn/Schlafraum und modernem Bad. Alle Mitarbeiter sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einfach Klasse!

A lodge with a view - Waterfront/Green Point

We had a lovely stay at Cape Diem Lodge. Very welcoming and our room was ready eventhough we came before check-in time. And what a room! Appx 30 sqm with separate bathroom. All at the lodge was helpful and take such good care of us! The afternoon tea was really a treat and we tried to be at ”home” when served. We had a really early start when leaving but we got a little breakfast bag to go! We would return any day to the this place.

Amazing stay

Hôtel agréable, bien situé avec un accueil et service sympathiques mais notre chambre n'était pas des plus éclatantes. C'est un bâtiment ancien qui a du charme mais des travaux de rénovation devraient être effectués pour rendre l'expérience plus agréable. Ne correspond pas du tout à un 5 étoiles. C'est une mignonne guest-house parfaite pour une nuit !

Hire Car Vandilised on unsafe Road outside

Parking not secure and car was vandilsed while under the supervision of the manager at the hotel. Then no responsibility taken by the owner. Do not stay here if you want secure parking, its roadside parking. Also not '5 star' international level, even though they try to portrait themselves as such
