Wonderful haven in the heart of Stellenbosch

We stayed here for two nights, and wish we could've stayed longer. Everything about this place exudes old world, classic charm and hospitality. The staff is warm, friendly and wonderful. The breakfast is divine. I always asked for a second fruit bowl which they always so graciously gave me. This is a slice of home away from home. We even got to meet the owner Vito, who was visiting from Italy. Even better that it's in the heart of the beautiful town of stellenbosch. Thank you for a most wonderful time!

What I liked about the property was the attention to detail the owner gave to each guest. I inadvertently booked a room with a share bath. However, prior to my arrival, to my delight the owner picked up on it, intuitively and upgraded my room to an in suite bath without any additional charges. The property is well maintained. It offers a warm, inviting embrace with a nice garden and inground pool. My room had all the comforts of home, with a brandy decanter and glasses for two, hot water kettle with tea, coffee and ceramic dishware, with a selection of books for quiet reading. Patio table with chairs for two were positioned just outside of my room to able me to enjoy a glass of wine, or tea with taking in the beautiful sunny weather. The dining area offer charming table settings for just two, or more, and the first glass of wine was on the house. After that payment was expected on the Honor system. Breakfast each day was amazing...bacon, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit, variety of yogurts, cereals, breads, and more...As I was preparing for a day at the Babylonstoren Vineyard, the owner offered me an umbrella for protection from the blazing sun while touring the farm. Having visited various countries in Africa, I will remember my stay at Albarosa, as one of my most pleasant and plan to return next year and brings friends.

Very cute!

Overall we had a wonderful stay here. My husband and I were in town from the USA to attend a close friends wedding and stayed for 2 nights. There was some confusion at check but the manager straightened things out. It’s a cute guesthouse with a beautiful garden. They offer hot breakfast and have an honestly bar where you can pour yourself a drink and leave 15 Rand. The pool pictured is not quite a pool, it is the size of a hot tub. So if you are looking for a place with a pool this is probably not the place. If you are looking for a cozy friendly place right near the town center this is it.

I wasn't that impressed. The water wasn't hot enough for a bath, the WiFi signal was too weak to get Gmail, the TV was on in the breakfast room during breakfast (very bad idea), and I was woken in the middle of the night by a weird green flashing bright light which turned out to be from the heating system (telling me it had finished its cycle) but which no one had told me about and which was very disconcerting and disruptive of sleep! The building itself is beautiful though (not the cottage particularly), the garden is lovely, and the people are friendly and offer tea when you arrive.

Once a member of staff had responded to our ring of the entrance bell, service was prompt and professional. Facilities were value for money but the shared kitchen concept in the room we had does not work for us. Better to make It the option of one room type, I would pay a bit more for sole use. Considering it proximity to the busy town centre it was quiet, we slept well. We would stay again.

I enjoyed staying in the guest house. I had my own apartment with living room, kitchen and separate sleep and bath room. The property is only 100 meters from the bars and restaurants in Stellenbosch. The property is well maintained and clean. It has a nice garden with swimming pool. The breakfast was good and the owner and personnel are very kind.

Summer weekend get a way

We spent 2 nights as I was running a marathon very early on the Saturday morning. I unfortunately was not able to have breakfast as I was running. My husband however did have breakfast and said they were very slow although there was only one other guest dining. The room was clean,comfortable and well decorated. The bathroom was very spacious. The guesthouse was situated in a quiet street close to all amenities.i did cool down in the plunge pool after the run which was very refreshing. The beds were very comfortable and made for a great night sleep. We left the next morning and chose to enjoy breakfast at the local food market as it was a beautiful day. Overall a pleasant weekend stay over

Heerlijke plek in het midden van Stellenbosch, je loopt gelijk het centrum in met veel restaurants. Ligt in een rustige zijstraat. Ontbijt is prima en de kamers zijn netjes en ruim. Zeker een aanrader in Stellenbosch

Comfortable. Wonderful staff.

One small problem--little stinging gnats and the occasional mosquito. There is insect repellent in the room, along with insecticide. This may not be so much a problem with the hotel as with its environment.
