The Stepping Stone is a serene, pet-friendly cabin for two with treetop views, a hot tub, and complimentary firewood for the fire pit. Built by owners who love the Red River Gorge, it’s designed for relaxing stays with an immersive sound system, soft lighting, and space to unwind or play. Located 7 minutes down a gravel road with steep terrain and two stream crossings—4x4 is strongly encouraged!



The Space:

Living Area

- Oversized couch and 65" smart TV for movie nights. Guests can log into personal streaming apps (no cable/live sports)

- Paradigm stereo with subwoofer for music lovers and a cinematic movie experience

- Stream your favorite music over Bluetooth or enjoy the record player

- 8 foot pool table, games and puzzles

- Dimmable lights throughout the home

- DVD/Blu-ray player



Kitchen

- Expansive kitchen with butcher block counters

- 5-burner electric stove

- All kitchen basics: Pots, pans, crockpot, microwave, tea kettle, oven, dishwasher

- Drip coffee maker and French press (filters provided; guests bring their own coffee)



Bedroom

- Queen mattress on the firmer side

- Blackout curtains for sleeping in

- Clothing storage

- Full-length mirror

- Garment steamer for wrinkle-free outfits



Bathroom

- 1 full bathroom with shower

- Complimentary shampoo, conditioner & body wash

- Hair dryer provided



Outside

- Home sits on a small cliffside bluff. Guests are welcome to take the trail below the rock shelter and swing in the hammocks

- Large back deck with forest treetop views and patio furniture. South-facing for warm winter sun; shaded around 4pm for cooler evenings

- Hot tub

- Fire pit with seating for two and complimentary firewood

- Charcoal grill (guests provide charcoal & lighter fluid)

- There is one other structure on the property below the rock shelter that is not occupied and off limits to guests



The Neighborhood

- Located in a cabin community with other nearby properties, yet still feels private

- Surrounded by the forest with beautiful golden hour views across the valley

- Occasional nearby construction may occur; work hours end at a reasonable time



10 minutes to Campton: Save A Lot Grocery, Wolfe County Library, She Brews Coffee, Turtle Farm Pottery, 145 Roadhouse, restaurants and gas stations

15-20 minutes to The Gorge Underground, RRG Zipline, The Brick Coffee and Ice Cream, SkyBridge Station, RedPoint BBQ, Muir Valley, Daniel Boone National Forest Entrance

20-30 minutes to Natural Bridge State Park, Miguel’s Pizza, shops and restaurants in Slade, Miller Fork, PMRP, The Nada Tunnel, trailheads along scenic KY-715



Other Things to Note:

- 4x4 and high clearance are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. The gravel road to the cabin has some steep sections and two stream crossings. Icy conditions make this road difficult to navigate

- We supply a starter amount of the following: hand soap, 1 roll of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry powder, and basic cleaning supplies. Any additional items will be the guest's responsibility to supply

- Pets are allowed at this cabin. We charge a flat pet fee of $50 for up to two dogs, no cats. Please be sure to add any pets to your reservation. If you do not see where to do so, reach out to us so we can apply our pet fee

- There is a drip coffee maker and French press. We provide filters, guests will need to provide their own coffee, creamer and sugar

- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hair dryer are provided

- There is WiFi and good cell service

- The TV does not have basic cable. It is a smart TV, guests will need to log into their own accounts

- There is a DVD/Blu-Ray player along with a few DVDs

- There are mini splits in the bedroom and living area for both heat and AC

- There is a security camera that overlooks the parking area and front entrance, but does not capture the back deck, hot tub, or fire pit area.
