Pros: The place was very clean, neat and beautiful. Interior was modern and up-to-date. The beds were comfortable and my children really loved the place. Communication process was good with owner.Cons: There was someone in the basement that we had to share parking. That information was not mentioned prior. The listing states "Full house"The kitchen needs more essentials to serve

Family weekend trip in Calgary

Newly built/renovated home that was very comfortable for a family of 6 adults and 4 children to stay. Communication and host very easy and accommodating.

While this property essentially provided us what we required for our week stay, there are some things that a renter should be made aware of before booking.First, ensure the host provides the code to access the property before your arrival. I had contacted the host the day before we were set to arrive in Calgary and asked if we would be able to check in before the usual 3:00 check-in time. He responded that that would be fine and that he would provide the access code during the day. As we drove into the city at 11:00 am, I tried to contact the host for the access code, and got nothing but crickets. For close to 4 hours, we waited around and tried to contact him multiple times with no success. Once I finally did get ahold of him, he then informed me that the property was still being cleaned and they required more time, which ended up being another two and a half hours. We FINALLY were able to gain access to the property at 5:15 pm, over 6 hours after arriving.The second major issue came as a surprise in the wee hours of the morning, when some of my family members were awaken by loud voices coming from behind the locked door that leads from the kitchen to the basement. Turns out that there is an additional suite in the basement that is also listed on VRBO. Nowhere in the listing for the house does it indicate that you could be potentially sharing the property with other renters. Other small issues, comfort level is low and could use more kitchen necessities and linens.
