Good hotel overall

Staff were polite and helpful, rooms were good for this price range, room service is available but you have to ask each time, the location is great for the hotel. Difficult to find the hotel as they own 1 floor of the building and they’re name dosnt appear anywhere. A/C was good in the room and mini fridge as well. Beds comfortable. Shower is ok , tad too small however. I would recommend people stay here not the prettiest from the outside of the hotel especially since there is other big name hotels in the area but saves you so much money and rooms are adequate.

No deberían permitir usar el nombre de meridien hotel , nos equivocamos pensando que fue el verdadero meridien hotel , y para nada . Parece motel más que hotel pero afortunadamente fue solamente 1 sola noche . No fue además para nada barato . Pero esto si nos recordaremos 😀

So barbel place used the name for mradin hotel but it is apparent in big building. So so bad. I will call when I come home breakfast is so bad we didn’t eaten. The picture in the app it’s not the same we taken

Not so Hot

First room provided had no windows after kicking upn a storm provided a great room on the top floor with great views. No daily service no replenishment of water tea and sugar.No coffee or milk provided No collection of towels or room /bed making Breakfast was a miserable affair ,unfriendly manager,no coffee no milk ,no fresh fruit juice,buffet breakfast is just tasteless food.

This is the worst place!! The pictures are edited. The toilet did not work, there were no towels, furniture in every lobby was pilled up, stairs had trash everywhere. It was very unsafe but worse our Uber drove for an hour looking for it. The hotel has changed many names to avoid these bad reviews. I moved hotels...

It was “Amazing “ to find out that it is not Meridian hotel I had reserved. It is a small confined to A floor of a commercial building. Check in was good , check in staff Mohammed extra NIce , professional and very knowledgeable. He probably has nothing to do anything with marketing. I had paid for Airport transfer RT, after a long argument only provided one way trip to Airport

We have had a terrible experience with our hotel booking to Nile Meridien Hotel on 1st to 10th October via Expedia. I did start to get concerned just before we travelled that I could not find a website or Facebook page for the hotel and had received no message via Expedia about our imminent arrival to the hotel. We had seen very mixed reviews and perhaps should have cancelled whilst we had the opportunity, however the hotel being on Expedia gave us the confidence that everything would be OK. On arrival in Cairo our UBER app did not know the hotel location but we knew the address “20 Aisha Taimoria” was next door the Four Seasons so we got a taxi. A security guard at the Four Seasons told us the hotel at “20 Aisha Taimoria” was closed and took us there. On arrival we were met by somebody at the hotel who checked our booking conformation and said that we had been transferred to an apartment building above the Galaxy cinema and that we should go to security at the Galaxy Cinema and take the lift to the 31st floor. Another taxi ride only to find that the Galaxy Cinema was derelict and although there were apartments above the Cinema the 31st floor was just four locked doors and the small corridor was in darkness. This left us stranded and homeless at 2:00am in the middle of Cairo, which could have been a very dangerous situation. Don’t let this happen to you DO NOT BOOK the Nile Meridien Hotel, now called the Nile Meridien Garden City Hotel and if you have booked CANCEL and book

El hotel funciona como tal en los niveles 1 y 2 de la Torre Nilo que se encuentra a un lado del majestuoso Four Seasons Hotel. La primera noche la pasamos mal con mi familia ya que la habitación daba miedo, el techo cayéndose por partes y las sábanas del colchón súper sucias. Al segundo día nos cambiaron a una habitación en el segundo nivel completamente diferente, muy bonita con vista al Nilo y que si se parecía a las fotos publicadas. El lugar cuenta con seguridad, desayuno si muy poco variado.

Hotellet låg på ett fint område. Det kändes tryggt för två kvinnor som åkte ensamma. Personalen var hjälpsamma och trevliga speciellt Mohammed (natt personal). En minus för trafiken som hördes och frukost som var så där.

J'arrivais avec un peu d'appréhension car j'avais lu des commentaires négatifs. Certes la localisation est mal indiquée sur Google maps et même en arrivant au bon endroit, il n'y a pas de signalisation claire de l'hôtel, il vaut mieux repérer avant. Mais le réceptionniste a été très agréable (il semblait juste ne pas être trop au courant de ma réservation) et j'ai eu la chambre avec vue sur le Nil, 2eme étage donc un peu bruyant car cela donne inévitablement sur la rue. La chambre était propre, un peu vieillotte et le petit déjeuner en salle tout à fait correct. Bref, c'est un hôtel convenable, situé dans un joli quartier. Avec ce tarif, je m'attendais à quelque chose d'un peu plus classe mais apparemment ce sont les tarifs pratiqués dans le centre...

First I will say, the staff tried really hard to make our stay better!! But please be aware this property is NOT a hotel, it's a run down local apartment building. They use a couple of the lower floors as rooms in this listing. There is NO Nile views in any of their rooms. There is no signage outside/street side indicating you are at the right place. There is no lobby or restaurant, only rooms they have tried to make into lobby and the breakfast area. All this being said, the rooms themselves are nice, comfortable beds, good hot showers, fast wifi. This was the only reason we stayed.

the description wasnt as the hotel shows in the photos here. Staff have advised Expedia of this and still not changed. Not a hotel per say, block of apartments with floor 1 and 2 as a working hotel! No roof top Restaurant as shown in the picture, 2nd floor restuarant inside the building, which look more like a working mans/builder cafe. only open for breakfast from 8am after our departure, not open for evening meals and the two tables by the window was some nile view. the garden is not part of the hotel it is a public garden across the road. There was no hot water for a shower, towels provided were hand and not bath size. I would not say it is 3 star hotel more 1 or 2 star or an upmarket hostel. The staff were very nice and the evening desk operative so so so kind he ordered us an Egyptian takeaway, which was an hour delivery. The takeway itself was amazing and the young man on the desk knew exactly what to order for us. Sadly I would not recommend Cairo its filthly, general rubbish everywhere, dog mess everywhere and excessive traffic made it impossible to walk anywhere due to cars double parked no pavement space and to get across town, dont bother. This is not my first time to Cairo and surprised that they are still in the dark ages, with the amount of new road structures that are being built. Whilst people visit Cairo for the pyramids and museum all of half a day I would suggest Luxor instead. Far cleaner and you are on the nile.

Wrong address, total bait and switch from photos that are online, hotel is dated, smells. Would not recommend staying here. Don’t be foooled by the “reasonable” price and pictures.

The hotel did not match with the photos you see in Expedia. First: difficult to find this hotel. Second: when you get into the building, the first floor was dirty and dark. we were scared. Third: the buffet is poor, the chairs dirty and broken. We pay for 3 nights but we stayed only 1 night.

False Advertising and Scam

This is false advertising. This is not a hotel. They basically are renting out rooms in an apartment building. The rooms themselves are in dilapidated conditions and none of the pictures match the actual hotel or room. Hotels.com needs to take them off their site immediately.

The staff is helpful and the nice balcony view it's the strong point of the property, although it would be much more nicer if all the windows would be cleaned up properly 🙂
