"This property was one of the most disappointing rental experiences we have ever had. The moment we entered the house, we were hit with a strong stale odor throughout the property. The photos in the listing do not reflect reality at all — the expectation versus reality was completely different. Everything outside was extremely dirty and clearly not maintained: dust, dirt, leaves everywhere, bird droppings covering the outdoor furniture and jacuzzi area. The jacuzzi itself contained dirty, foul-smelling water with sand inside. Inside the house, the situation was even worse. The dishes were dirty, the carpets had visible animal stains, and the blankets were covered in other people’s hair and stains. Towels and bed linens also appeared dirty and unwashed. The rug near the bed was folded and uneven, causing multiple people to trip over it. In the third-floor bathroom, pieces of the ceiling were literally falling down onto our heads while using the bathroom. Most of the wooden furniture, both inside and outside, is heavily worn out and should honestly be replaced. Some furniture pieces are unstable, damaged, or literally falling apart. The refrigerator was dirty, the windows throughout the house were filthy, and there was dust and spider webs everywhere. The house was clearly not prepared for guests. Another serious issue was the neighboring dog. As soon as we got out of the car, the dog ran out aggressively and rushed toward us, which was frightening and completely unaccepta"

"The cabin is awesome, and there is so many things to do in the area. We went to the Chimney Rock State Park, Catawba falls, The Biltmore Estate, the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway and many great places to eat like “Vinnie’s” Italian restaurant."

"This house is located in the community of Gerton, a tiny place with few people and no shopping. This is either excellent or a problem depending on your preferences. We thought it was great! The house itself is 100 years old. Nicely appointed in cabin style. Its age presented some issues, such as few updated outlets and low lighting in living areas. It was equipped with everything that one needs with a few extras like coffee pods for the maker and salt/pepper shakers. The host had fresh flowers on the table! Nice bath towels! Because of the burn ban we were unable to enjoy the nice fire pit area and we ended up not using the hot tub that stood warm and ready for us. We did enjoy seeing the hummingbirds feed from the back deck. The host was quickly responsive for reservations and guide to check in and check put. Be aware that the roads leading to Gerton from both sides are still under repair due to Hurricane Helene. sad. There are frequent delays with one lane traffic stops so give extra time. The nearby communities of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure could use more tourist money but many of the businesses were destroyed. sad againOverall the rental experience was positive and recommended."

"This was the best property for people traveling with dogs that we have ever stayed at. Perfect. We were a group of four adults and had plenty of space. It rained for one of the days we were there and we really loved sitting on the large, covered porch during that time, relaxing, visiting, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. "

"What an adorable cottage! It offered wonderful privacy along with so many thoughtful touches. Everything felt high-end, spotless, and very well cared for. It has several cozy nooks and reading spaces for when you just want to relax. The remote-controlled fireplaces were also a nice touch when the temperatures were cooler.The owner, Brea, has truly thought of everything—you’ll find the home stocked with anything you might need and more. She went above and beyond with communication, providing clear details about check-in, the property, and the surrounding area.
