We loved staying at Vela Vrata Hotel in Buzet! The town is still so authentic, and not inundated with tourists. Our room had a lovely view over the valley below, and we enjoyed having drinks and dinner each evening on the outdoor terrace. If we are ever back in Istria, we would definitely stay here again.

A nice small hotel in an old Istrian town
This is a nicely refurbished hotel in an old building in the old town Buzet and some rooms have a great view of the surroundings. Town of Buzet is away from touristically busy Croatian coast and offers nice opportunities for quiet holidays with great areas for hiking nearby. Staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful when we asked for hiking possibilities and local attractions. The hotel was clean with all necessary amenities and the restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner was great. The only thing we disliked was the water in the pool which was a bit too cold for our standards.

Great Location
Stayed here 2 nights. Very nice hotel in Buzet in ideal hilltop (fortress) location. Very nice to walk around the old village from the middle ages. Good centrally located place to stay if exploring the region. We did a day trip to Pula and Rovinj both very well worth the drive. We got to try truffles (Buzet is truffle capital of Croatia) and purchased some in a small glass jar($50.00) which survived the trip home and through security (they did make us dump out the olive oil (carry-on bag) at Budapest Airport and we put them in our checked bag at JFK (didn't want to take and chances with TSA).

Si vous avez le malheur de ne pas ĂȘtre un lĂšve tĂŽt, vous risquez de manquer de choix au dĂ©jeuner. Il faut faire couler l eau longtemps pour obtenir de l eau chaude. Une serveuse un peu agressive suite Ă un dĂ©bordement de clients au dĂ©jeuner. Le plus frustrant est la faiblesse du WiFi qui est constamment en mode on et off pourtant nous sommes bien en 2017

Absolutely wonderful!
The hotel has great beds, comfortable linens and very clean, well appointed rooms. There is also a nice indoor pool which was unexpected. The hotel is situated in beautiful historic Buzet and has a nice restaurant with a bar located down the street. It's a quiet town with great views and a lovely laid-back charm. We had a fantastic and relaxing stay at the Vela Vrata Hotel - highly recommended!

Wonderful boutique hotel and restaurant.
Beautifully located with friendly, thoughtful staff who all spoke good English. Best value for money of all the hotels we stayed in on this trip to Istria.
Lovely rooms - we had 3 and all were big, clean and very comfortable
Breakfast is ample with a selection of cereals, pastries and cold meats/cheese. You can also order eggs of your choice. Handy- Next to tourist office. You can eat outside for breakfast and other meals.
Highly recommend.

Charming little place
We had a wonderful time staying at Vela Vrata. The hotel is quite small but it has everything you need; heated pool, wifi, restaurant, and a spa. Located on top of the hill so you get a gorgeous view of the valley. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Staff were very nice and friendly.

Enjoyed our stop over in Buzet this boutique hotel was excellent value in all aspects a gem.With good accessibilty to rest of small quaint town.I had time for swim in their indoor pool.
