A perfectly reclaimed cottage with uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean....

Ocean's End is an ideal base to explore the unadulterated splendour of the West Cork coastline. The cottage sits comfortably on the dramatic and rugged Seven Heads Peninsula and is a mere 400 metre stroll from the cliffs of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the perfect location to relax and unwind and immerse oneself in the natural unspoilt beauty of the surrounding landscape. There are a myriad of sandy swimming beaches at its door step and the multi award winning historical town of Clonakilty is a short drive away.
The cottage has 2 double ensuite bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms as well as a main bathroom upstairs. The extensive living space that stretches from a compact, contemporary kitchen through to a sunny South facing dining room, occupies one half of the ground floor. From here you can choose to dine al fresco on the adjacent paved terrace. The lounge is comfortably furnished with a welcoming wood-burning stove and a sumptuous snuggly sofa. Across the hallway the sitting room features another wood-burning stove, a classic corner sofa and a generous tv for movie nights in. The space at the rear of the ground floor hosts a boot room, with guest WC, utility room and a shower, all cottage-styled with a home-makers detailing and skill. A wonderful outdoor seating area is provided, and sheltered garden room, should the weather turn inclement. The log burning fire, complete with cooking racks for grilling steaks and burgers is an enchanting bonus for those long evenings. Also included is a charcoal bbq and a wood-burning pizza oven.
Ocean's End sits adjacent to an award winning dairy enterprise so early morning milking excursions can be arranged, affording you a wonderful opportunity to deeply connect with nature and immerse yourself in the best of what West Cork farm life has to offer. Your reward – a bottle of fresh creamy milk straight from the cow to enjoy with a well-earned breakfast. Don’t forget to pack your wellies!

We had a wonderful time at Oceans End! Our hosts Deidre and John were so welcoming and kind. Growing up on farms it was so very nice to enjoy the cows and the quiet of it all.

Our stay was perfect. The pictures on the app along with the narrative were spot on. We enjoyed the view and quiet environment and watching the cows come in for milking and go back out. John was a good instructor for milking cows and was a lot of fun. I will recommend this spot to my friends or anyone else looking for this kind of stay.

Perfect Seclusion with plenty to do close by

John & Deirdre are great host's. The property is clean and comfortable in a setting that is hard to beat. The place is sitting on an active Dairy Farm and John is happy to give you a lesson in Dairy Farming. Everyone in our party was very happy with our stay.

Absolutely serene - Perfect stay!

The cottage was amazing and the hosts were extremely hospitable! Everything was super clean and exactly how pictures described. It was very comfortable and had everything you need. The countryside where cottage is located has beautiful scenery and it truly was a small piece of heaven.

Incredible stay!

We loved our time in this beautiful house. So well equipped and very comfortable, the hosts have thought of everything! Incredible location and we loved the chance to visit the cows and help with the milking one evening. Thanks so much for having us, we will be back in the future for sure!

Our favorite place

Absolutely relaxing and remarkable. Our entire family loved this spot the most. Deirdre is a wonderful hostess who pays attention to every detail. Incredible location as well. Clonakilty was also our favorite destination, as far towns with shopping goes, and it was close by! We happily spent most of the time at the place though. We feel lucky that John showed us the process of milking the cows and their adorable dogs led the way on the gorgeous walking paths. Thank you Deirdre and John:)

Wonderful stay at Ocean’s End

We had a great time over Christmas! Deirdre and John are wonderful hosts and their beautiful house offered us more comforts than we anticipated. We took walks to the nearby beach escorted by their dogs, we cooked and reconnected by the wood stoves, and we visited friendly towns nearby. We are grateful for the care and hospitality of our hosts who went over and above to help us properly celebrate the end of a hard year. We hope to go back!

what a fun stay! A great "base of operations" for us as we explored southwestern Ireland. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Gorgeous ocean view. Nearby farm was a big hit with my daughter too!

A Piece of Heaven

This is a beautiful property out in the country surrounded by green hills, the ocean in the distance and many cows grazing in the fields. I find grazing cattle to add to the feing ofp1eace and contentment. The house itself is beautiful with lots of room for five people, (enough beds, two sitting rooms so two TV's, a well equiped kitchen, three bathrooms) plus a lo ely yard with outdoor seating. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Quiet getaway for our family

Our family enjoyed a few quiet days away from the hustle of every day life. The cottage is absolutely perfect. Deirdre and John have done an amazing job.. Would love to come back in the summer. Really appreciated John taking time with us to tell us about his experience as a dairy farmer. It renewed our appreciation for the work that goes into our dairy products.

Dream Rental

This property was everything we hoped it would be and more! Comfortable, beautiful, amazing location, spectacular views and fully stocked with anything you might need on vacation. Deirdre and John were so kind and welcoming. We enjoyed learning about the milking process from John one evening and wondered around by the sea with Teddy and Robin (the pups). I cannot recommend Ocean's End enough. Book it! I promise you'll be so glad you did!

Slice of West Cork heaven

We had the best time at Ocean’s End. The “cottage” (so much more!) is roomy, well equipped, tastefully decorated and indeed has a view straight out of a picture-book. Deirdre & John are gracious hosts and the location provides easy access to West Cork & beyond. HIGHLY recommend for anyone considering this property!

Owners go above and beyond!

The best cottage to stay at with owners that care about you and your happiness! My first night there, the airline lost my luggage and the owner took it upon herself to go get it at the airport once it arrived! The cottage is clean, welcoming, and cozy with the most beautiful setting.

Idyllic house.

Absolutely stunning property located on a beautiful headland. The attention to detail within the house made this such a special stay. Every amenity, from fresh produce to large fluffy towels, has been given great thought and makes for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and with so much still to explore we will definitely be back in the future. We thoroughly loved our time at Oceans End, such a pity it had to end!

Just great

Deirdre and John offer wonderful accommodation in the perfect setting. The location is great for a real getaway with views across farmland to the sea and yet an ideal spot to explore West Cork. Our family included our 3 year old granddaughter who loved milking the cows and the space to play both outside and with the toys provided. Just great.
