I stayed at the Sofitel for four nights before joining my tour group for an Antartica trip. The hotel is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived in the early morning and check in is at 3pm. The staff worked hard to get me into a room by 10am. I was so very appreciative of this. I was also given some delicious pastries from the Patisserie in the lobby. These two ‘perks’ were due to my status with Expedia, or that’s what I believe. My room was spacious, very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast at the hotel had a wide variety of food options. I had lunch at the Patisserie in the lobby several times instead of venturing out. The food was very good. I had drinks in the hotel lounge one evening, which wasn’t crowded at all. The hotel is in the recolecta neighborhood which is a nice safe area. There’s a high end mall across the street that I was told has a Starbucks and several places to find a reasonably priced meal. If I return to Buenos Aires I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. With a stay in Rio prior to this one, would recommend this hotel over all the hotels I have stayed at except a few. I won’t name them but to give a quick insight. Irene stayed at Four Seasons in NYC, St. Regis Hong Kong, JW NYC, and Sofitel is a close second to these. The staff was wonderfully attentive. Look forward to coming back next year.

El servicio es terrible. No es un hotel 5 estrellas es máximo un 4 estrellas, no Pudieron ni conseguir un taxi al aeropuerto tuve que llamar al Alvear Palace que me había quedado una semana antes y me ayudaron para transportarme al aeropuerto. En pleno 31 de diciembre a las 2 de la tarde me buscaron para cambiarme de cuarto. Ellos quisieron manipular mis cosas ya que les dije que quería aprovechar el día y no quisieron esperarme o no me avisaron más temprano. Terrible ese lugar sin duda no vuelvo a hospedarme con ellos.

The room was large, comfortable and spotless. The hotel's location is excellent, especially if you like the more 'genteel' side of Buenos Aires. Service was good and breakfast acceptable (I've had better at other Sofitel hotels, especially the one in Montevideo where it is outstanding).
