The room was great, the pub itself was quite good, breakfast was great, managed to get a gluten free one, and managed to park, but limited space, which we already knew about. Couldn’t fault our stay, all good

Nice place but the room I had was next door to a nightclub. Friday and Saturday night were really noisy. So much so that I asked to move rooms on the Saturday. To be fair this was not a problem for the staff who accommodated my request. Other than the noise late at night, no issues.

The pub was very welcoming on arrival ,the room was spacious and at the front of the hotel. The shower cubicle had mould around the tiles , this could easily be clleaned , the room was situated at the front was very noisy especially at 5.00am when the bin men are emptying the bins. The pub is centrally situated . I would stay again but would ask for a room at the back. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful

The Golden Lion is ideally situated on the High Street with its own carpark at the rear with each space designated by the room name you're staying in. The staff, rooms and breakfast are excellent and the bar has a great choice of real ales. Other pubs and restaurants are nearby as are shops which are a mix of high street names and individual ones
