Enjoy your holiday on Fisherman's Isle, in this rustic Island cabin on the canal that leads to the river. The cabin has been completely decorated-for Christmas There is a deck overlooking the water with chairs and Gas grill. Cabin has everything you need for a nice relaxing get away. There is a full kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook. The cabin has 4 beds ,1 queen downstairs ,2 twin and 1 Full upstairs. Enjoy fishing, boating, bird watching or take a relaxing ride in the paddle boat or Kayak (included with house) on the canal. Also, across the street we have added a lighted pier for night fishing on the river. Complete with fish cleaning table and water. Enjoy a complementary bottle of wine for your first evening and farm fresh eggs for your first breakfast. Go just 10 miles upriver and eat at Dido's restaurant for fresh seafood. Something new ( we just added WIFI)

Thw hosts were very kind and helpful. The cabin was nice, clean, and had everything we needed. Really nice oitdoor seating with loghts for fisjing the channel at night. We really enjoyed our stay.

Fishing trip

Perfect place to stay for fishing the bay! This was our 2nd time renting this cabin. The owners are nice people, and are always really helpful. We will definitely stay here again

Great spot

This is the second Thanksgiving we have stayed in this house. We love it because it's always clean, they they everything you need to cook with, the host are super sweet, and it's very cozy. My boys love fishing and there are plenty of options at this location. Highly recommend.

Better than expected

If you are seeking peace, quiet, and fishing, this is your spot. Step out back and throw a line in to the canal and you never know what you might pull up. Walk a few short steps behind the house to the river and the fishing seems to be abundant. Take plenty of supplies as the nearest convenience store is probably 6 or 7 miles away, but that should not deter you. our hosts were gracious and very accommodating. We would definitely consider returning.

Perfect rural property for a relaxing break.

For a family visiting from the UK seeking a property that was away from it all and a more traditional experience it was ideal. Our favourite part was talking together outside watching the spectacular sunsets. Thank you.

Awesome fishing getaway

My wife, son and I stayed here for four days and absolutly loved it. The cabin itself was a great place to stay and was very well stocked with anything you might need. The fresh eggs were a great touch and probably my wifes favriot thing. Being able to step outside and fish from the back dock was really nice. They also have a private lighted pier across the street on the river. I highly recomend this place. We will be back.

Cozy Spot

We wanted a cozy place to stay close enough to a beach to see the ocean that was not too full of people. The fishing was not great but that was just bad timing with the weather and season. Host was accommodating to early check in and night fishing. When we come back to Texas we will certainly look for this place again. We are in a grungy campground outside of Dallas on our way home and already wishing we had spent an extra day at fisherman’s isle!

Perfect weekend getaway

We had an amazing weekend of fishing with our kids. The house was just as pictured! Everything was clean, there were plenty of supplies and essentials that many houses don’t have included which was a nice surprise. The owner was kind and greeted us when we arrived and came out and turned the lights on for us to do some night fishing. The fishing was great, we caught a variety of fish as well as a few crabs. If you’re looking a simple getaway with some good fishing this is a great option. We look forward to returning in the future.

Nice & Quiet

Nice, quiet village. The cold was a bit challenging for fishing, but still managed to catch a few on the docks, that are for guest's use as part of your stay! Iverna & Randy (owners) are right across the driveway and were very welcoming...along with the help of that stinker Billy Earl! LOL... Good spot overall!

Perfect spot for Rest, Relaxation, and fishing fun! We had a fabulous stay at this peaceful island getaway! If you're looking to unplug and truly relax, this is the place. The sunsets over the water were absolutely breathtaking, and the quiet surroundings made it easy to unwind. We hardly saw another soul during our 3-night stay, which was exactly what we were looking for.Fishing was a highlight—whether from the back deck or the private dock just across the street, we had a great time casting lines and enjoying the views. The home itself was cozy and well-stocked, with a fully equipped kitchen that made cooking easy. The fresh eggs provided for breakfast were a lovely and delicious touch!A special thank you to Iverna and Randy—wonderful hosts who were incredibly kind and helpful. Their home is truly a hidden gem. While some nearby homes are a bit run down, it didn’t affect our experience at all, especially given the very reasonable price for such a peaceful retreat.There’s a Dollar Store about 10 minutes away for essentials, and a larger town about 30 minutes out. We brought our own food, so we didn’t need much, but I believe there’s also a restaurant nearby for those who’d prefer dining out.Thank you again, Iverna and Randy, for sharing your beautiful home—we left feeling refreshed and grateful!

Away from everything

Verna and Randy were the BEST. They made sure we had everything we needed if it wasn't already there. It was fun Catch/Releasing fish and blue crab. Learned a lot about the difference in fishing on Lake Erie vs Texas waters. Loved being back in an area where there we not many people. All the family and neighbors were so Welcoming! Loved seeing wildlife we don't see in our area of Ohio like wild pigs, large white pelicans and Roseate Spoonbills. Vern's Red Fish was excellent (better than my husbands yellow perch) I would Love to say we would stay again but there are too many places in the world to see to go back to the same place twice. But the hosts know they are welcome to visit in Ohio!

Love At First Sight

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Island fishing cabin. The picture of the cabin does not do it justice. It is indeed a beautiful cabin, beautifully decorated on the inside. As we were unloading the car, Iverna greeted us in the driveway. She was very friendly and made us feel so welcome. Fresh yard eggs and wine were on the table to greet us. She lives across the street and it was a blessing to be able to talk to her when needed, even though we had no real issues. The house was neat, clean and inviting. We felt right at home. When we were checking out, Iverna brought us a freshly filleted red fish to take home with us. Too bad I can only give this host a five star rating, because she deserve much more. I will be booking again soon.
