It turned out a skunk had nested and sprayed under the porch and the smell was intolerable. Rent Branson offered air fresheners and to change the air filters in the morning but we couldn't have slept there. The smell was so bad. After a couple of hours they offered an alternate cabin, which seemed fine overnight, but less than 24 hours later, that cabin's plumbing backed up, leaving 1/2 inch of standing water all over the floor throughout the cabin and we couldn't use any sinks, toilets, the hot tub, or other water. Being 4+ hours from home, we had to pay for a hotel and meal out, instead of enjoying the rental and cooking in as we'd planned. Repeated, polite conversations by phone and email with Rent Branson resulted in an offer to refund only for one night, which equalled about 20% of our total cost, not even the taxes or cleaning fees. We asked for refund of these fees as well, as we paid all of those fees plus a reservation fee for the two nights. So far it's been over six weeks month and they refunded that small amount, then they stopped responding to emails. Beyond the first call when VRBO set up a case number, VRBO has not helped. I hate leaving bad reviews but we need more help than this. We had less than 24 hours of rest and relaxation in what was a 3 days, 2 nights, Feb. 15-17 reservation period. We occupied the first cabin less than 1 hour and in the second, less than 24 hours.
