Beautiful Cozy Cabin in the Country

Our cabin, located in Bourbon IN, is perfect for a couple's getaway or even for a single, looking for some alone time. Set in the 4 acre woods on our property, the cabin was a labor of love. Most of the cabin was built by us personally, including the kitchen, the floors and walls, rafters and woodwork, and some of the furniture. Rustic Pottery Barn is the decor style.

The cabin includes a living room and dining room, kitchen with a small fridge and a 2 burner stove, and a loft with a full size bed. There is a ladder that leads to the loft, so you must be okay with climbing a ladder.

The restroom (aka the "loo") is in a separate building behind the cabin. Hot and cold running water. No shower, just a claw foot tub.

There is a front porch for sitting and rocking. Our fire-pit is complete with plenty of wood for some enjoyable nights around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and popping popcorn. We also have a gas grill.

Our two-person hammock is very relaxing if you want to take a snooze. If you want a little fun, we have horseshoes, axe throwing, and cornhole.

We are one mile from the Back Forty Sporting Clays, so you will hear shotgun sounds during the day. The evenings are quiet and the sunsets are beautiful on our dirt country road. Our road is perfect for a long walk... We think we have a haven out here in the country.

Our little town is 6 miles away and has a Family Dollar, a Subway, Bourbon Street Pizza, a coffee shop, an ice cream parlor, a Mexican restaurant, and a family diner. For more stores and restaurants, Warsaw is only 15 miles and has Wal-mart, Kohls, Meijer, Ruby Tuesdays, Hacienda, Texas Roadhouse, Bob Evans and a variety of other great eateries.

We are located 30 miles south of South Bend (Perfect for Notre Dame weekends!) , 45 miles west of Ft. Wayne, 50 miles north of Logansport, 2.5 hours north of Indianapolis and 2.5 hours east of Chicago. Easy to get to the bigger cities.

For several years we owned and rented out our lake cottage, so we are very familiar with making our guests comfortable and had perfect reviews. We were full every week, with many who were repeat guests.

Our cabin is suitable for a maximum of 2 adults. There is only one bed. Babies are welcome, but no toddlers because of the open loft.

We do not have cable or satellite, but the cabin does get a few local stations. A dvd player is available. Bring your own videos. (We do have a small library.) Redbox available in town. No internet. However, if you need to check your email, we have wifi at our house and it makes it to the cabin porch and you are welcome to check your mail on wifi from our patio.

No visitors, please. Must be 21 or over. No "partying". TWO NIGHT MINIMUM.
