"The layout of the property is perfect. Close proximity to pool and beach. Pool has a beautiful shape. Pool bar and restaurant integrated. Beautiful vegetation and flowers all around. It is so enticing that many birds including humming birds, toads, frogs, lizards, and cats, are all attracted to the property.
Rooms have a fantastic patio facing all of this, perfect for your morning coffee or evening relaxation.
The beach is second-to-none. Soft white sand, warm water, nice waves.
Ridiculously relaxing.
Possibly the best layout of any resort in Barbados.
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful."
"I’m writing this review because the reviews were a big part of my decision making on my vacation . I am so glad I decided on Sugar Bay ! When we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and a nice cold beer Natalie at the reception was absolutely amazing. She explained everything to us regarding the hotel and then a wonderful gentleman I believe his name was Dave showed that to our room and just explained a few details. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean the view was stunning. The beach it’s absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach .The Reef bar was right on the beach which serves delicious frozen drinks and had amazing bartenders Re-Shawn , Damion and Xavier to name a few . The fruit kabobs serves on the beach was a nice treat. The pool was nice with a swim up bar but we spent most of our time at the beach .The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were served in the Reef restaurant.
There was a wide selection of food I personally I think there was something for everyone. There are three restaurants and during your stay you can have one dinner at the one of your choice . We chose Sizzle steakhouse where I ate one of the best steaks I ever had. There was also great nightly entertainment . The entire staff was fantastic ! There was always someone to help you with anything needed. We felt really safe at this resort with all the security walking around .If you are looking for a fun yet ver"
Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All Inclusive Resort
8/10 Good
"The pool is clean, enjoyable, and the staff is great. Very friendly and conversational. Breakfast is good, but lunch and dinner are not memorable at the Mediterranean. The pastries are excellent, but the coffee station has terrible service from staff who are either unhappy or moody and do not want to be there. I am a coffee drinker, and when I asked for two cappuccinos, I got a LOOK like I am from another planet. I found it very unprofessional when I was waiting to wrap up my coffee order, and a staff member disrupted the conversation, having a long conversation with another staff member, totally forgetting or ignoring me. I stared at them to signal my existence, and finally, they stopped and asked me what I wanted. The Japanese, the castles, and the Indian restaurants are great, and so is all the staff. Morning front desk staff are friendly, but some need a mood boost. Wyndham is a brand hotel, and the amount of money I paid to stay at this resort, I wasn't happy to chase around for chicken nuggets and hot dogs for my two kids and extra towels for the room. The room service delivery charge of $25 per meal is a bit much, as I think it should be included since it's an all-inclusive resort. I was very impressed with Wyndham in Costa Rica; that's a reason why I chose this hotel for Barbados."
"My husband and I arrived at the property late afternoon after having the airline lose our luggage. I was overtired from having been traveling since early morning and was really upset. We got the manager on duty when checking in and after explaining to her our day - she gave us an amazing upgrade on our room to try and make our day better. She even asked if should could give me a hug - she was absolutely amazing and make our stay at this property wonderful. "
"Indigo hotel is a new hotel in good location. Access to Brownes beach(the most beautiful beach in Barbados IMO) is one short reg bus away/or taxi.
TV has Netflix app(you need to login yourself) and bed was huge, felt like super king size. We were given corner 4th floor which offered amazing view.
Room was spacious & modern design.
Infinity pool on ground floor and another pool on rooftop were enjoyable.
Food-wise, pizza & taco were yummy and not too expensive.
Breakfast buffet was not worth 42 USD, although nothing wrong - just needed more variety. Additional price for coffee was unnecessary. For breakfast, Blush cafe and Artsplash in walking distance were better options.
All in all, worth money and happy to revisit when we come back to Barbados."
"Good overall experience. Property very nice room was clean. Opted for a suite with ocean view and small paddle pool. The pool is right besides to balcony which overlooks the ocean. Since pool was covered it did not get much heat so water colder than normal. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very nice had plenty of storage for clothes and full kitchen an even washer and dryer. Beach was nice however not too big maybe half mile in length. Property was easy to navigate and suite was centrally located everything was in easy walking distance. Restaurants were good the Carriage house had the best wings on the property and to me was best value."
