Thirty-five minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway considered one of the most scenic Highways of the United States. Awesome autumn foliage. Summer temperatures will never exceed 80 degrees in this top floor, well ventilated corner unit. Summer activities include: River rafting, bicycling, fishing, zip line and numerous hiking trails. During the Winter, skiing, tubbing, and ice skating. The perfect place to rest, meditate and enjoy. The perfect place to exercise, walk, bike, run, ski, sled. The best of both worlds! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay! Great view and nice location near everything on Beech mountain! The fireplace is a nice touch and the bed was very comfortable! We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Overall it was good. Note though during this latest heat wave it can be warm during the day. The owner a provided extra fan which helped. She is very accessible.

In the clouds

Nice cozy little place. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Right next to Ski Beech for those skiing or snow boarding. We had a great stay and enjoyed the place.

Perfect

Perfect place for a father/son snowboarding trip. Easy walk to the slopes. Totally avoided the parking nightmare at Beech on the weekend. Host was excellent. Hope to return next winter!

Great location! Property owner let us come a little early which was fabulous. The place is dated and no air conditioning. I need to be cool. We did feel safe.

Our favorite retreat

We're regular visitors to this property. It meets all of our needs and the location can't be beat. Honestly what we love most is that we're "forced" to spend time together while in the condo. It's nice to reconnect with each other and enjoy the closeness that comes with staying in a smaller space. Charlene is always receptive when we have a concern and available to help. We look forward to visiting again!

We really did have an amazing experience and a great time. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. We went to visit Appalachian State University for our son and we wanted the full experience so we chose to stay in Beech Mountain. We do not regret it one bit. The condo was very cozy and up a mountain and the host was very nice and very responsive. It had the most comfortable beds. It did not disappoint and if you love views this is definitely the place.

Great location but could use some updates

The location was awesome. Very close to the slopes, but it was very old inside. Needs some updates. Heating was also a little bit of an issue. The baseboard heating would not keep it warm enough and the fireplace wasn’t working. However, once we got the fireplace to work it was very warm.

Good Location - old Granny style furnishings

The location was perfect. The apartment was quaint, in a Granny kind of way. It was very humid and muggy all night so I didn’t sleep well. Could be cleaner. (ie.. old used bar of soap, empty soap dispensers. Could use a spring cleaning) It’s also a bit old and run down and the entire place was sagging in the middle from what appears to be a serious foundation issue.

Amazing.

I was very impressed during my stay. The view is beautiful! It’s an end unit on the top floor. The whole area in general is whisper quiet. All you normally hear is the wind, trees and birds. Location is perfect! Easy to find! Parking is easy and plentiful. The interior is very cozy. Some of the appliances are a bit dated but it adds to the cozy log cabin vibe. Bed was comfortable and the rocking chair and lazy boy was great! Especially when we were relaxing watching tv with the patio door open to enjoy the fresh mountain air. My girlfriend and I were very happy with our stay. This was her first time staying in the NC mountains and she loved it. This property is very cozy, clean and safe. Go enjoy the fresh, peaceful, quiet mountain air, you deserve it.

Romantic overnight

Well GPS took us 2 miles past the location. Poured rain the 10 hour drive there. We arrived tired and wet/ cold. Little trouble getting lock to work. Kitchen/bath and beds were wonderful. Kitchen clean with many extra cooking tools. Bath clean w only working heater in the place that we could get to work. Beds were devine... so comfy and cuddie which was good because we could not get heat to work. Too tired, and late in night to mess with it. So, we cuddled and stayed warm in the bed with many blankets that were supplied. This was also nice. We made the best of it and left early in the morning. Thought it was a little high in cost. I just wanted to stay in the mountains which we never have done before. Would have rathered given a higher score.

Cozy yet Adequate

We stayed at this property for a 4 day family vacation. The property is in great proximity to the Slopes & does have a good view. The photos are a little deceiving the couch isn't the same couch & it actually is sitting on the floor w/ no feet so it is quite low & there are no bar stools & kitchen table also is different it is now a High Top & the ad says it has a dishwasher but it does NOT. The washing machine also did not work & we couldn't get the fireplace to light no matter how many times we read the directions and the kitchen had pretty much everything you needed BUT only had 2 forks. The floor did slope in the middle of the room but that really wasn't a deal breaker. It is a Cozy yet Adequate place to stay for a short period & it is close to everything which is a plus. You can tell it is a older place & needs A lot of fixing but for a day or two this place would be fine for 2-3 ppl.

Quiet, rustic getaway.

This is a ski resort area, so the time of year we went (Sept/Oct) there are not many people around, which is just what we wanted. Quiet. Beautiful views. Bed is very comfortable. The condo itself is rather rustic - the interior walls and cabinets look like a rustic mountain cabin built by first time builder. The accommodations reflect years of use with only basic maintenance having been done. The VRBO listing is not accurate on several points: there is no dishwasher, no telephone, no ironing board. Also, almost all the furniture seen in the pictures is now different. The couch was different - at one time it had legs but no more. I am guessing that one broke off and rather than fixing it they took off the other 3?? Whatever the case, now legless, it sits low on the floor making it awkward to get out of. The table is now a high-top with bar stools. As another reviewer stated, the floor sags a bit toward the center of the condo. But we did not come for the furniture. Our initial disappointment dissipated within a couple days (we stayed for 10 days) and we enjoyed the quietness, the nice view, and the very comfortable bed. Overall, for the price, yes we would stay again. For a few more dollars you could get something in better repair, but you won't find anything quieter I don't believe.
