We were disappointed with our stay and felt the listing did not accurately represent the property. The air conditioning struggled to keep the house cool, making it uncomfortable during our stay. While the kitchen had been remodeled, the bathrooms appeared to be original from the mid-to-late 1990s, with dated tubs, fixtures, and finishes. The decorating was excessive and felt mismatched. We expected a mountain cabin theme, but instead it was filled with an overwhelming mix of taxidermy, mounted animals, fly rods, fishing rods, mounted fish, skis, six horse saddles hanging from the ceiling beams, and cowboy hats. It was hard to tell whether the theme was a mountain cabin or an Old West lodge. The listing also gave the impression that the cabin was secluded in the woods, but it is actually located in a neighborhood with houses on both sides and homes above and below it. If you're looking for privacy and a true mountain setting, this may not meet your expectations. Finally, the listing photos made the cabin appear bright, open, and spacious. In reality, it was much darker inside, even during the daytime, and felt more enclosed than the pictures suggested.Overall, the cabin was adequate, but between the inadequate air conditioning, dated bathrooms, misleading photos, lack of seclusion, and overly cluttered decorating style, we did not feel it lived up to the expectations created by the listing. That's why we rated it a 7 out of 10.
