「The first unit I reserved had some issues - sliding door wouldn't open and logging into the TV, but the host moved us to another unit that was much better. We didn't know that places would be closed either due to it being off season or Easter weekend. We had to go into Banner Elk to eat and buy groceries. Just wanted to add that for people like us that don't travel to the mountains often. Overall we had a good trip, but I would stay in Banner Elk, Boone, or Blowing Rock next time.」

「This was a cute little rental that was as described. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were accommodating and very responsive. I was impressed to learn it’s been in service for over 20 years. Loved the clubhouse and general atmosphere— reminded me of family vacations as a child in the 1990s… so quaint!! Reception and WiFi is not terrific so it was a great opportunity to play games as a family and take to the outdoors. We plan to return next year. Thank you!!!」

「What I’m writing is not the fault of the property—they don’t control the weather—but just information for future travelers so they can plan better than we did.This is really more of a winter resort. We stayed in the summer during an unprecedented heat wave. There was one tiny window AC unit and a big ceiling fan. Both worked great but not sufficient for the space. No prob, we thought we’ll open windows at night when it cools off…except there’s no window upstairs where it’s hot. Just a patio door...

「The host was wonderful...made sure everything was set for the stay. The location was very convenient for the horse show and in a lovely, secluded spot. Quiet and serene. The bed was very comfortable. There were some issues with the unit which I passed along to the host. Because of the wooded locale, there is a prevalent musty smell which did not dissipate. Imo, the place seems a bit tired.」
